Surprising to some, but not to others, The New Chicagoan  revealed today that as many as 83% of Democrats have shaved pubic hair, whereas only about 12% of Republicans have 'cut the curlies'.

The study, which took place over a 6-month period, prior to the recent election, conducted at the National Conventions of each party, asked both men and women:

"Do you have any pubic hair or have you shaved it off?"

90% of Democratic women and 71% of men said they shave it regularly. 

When Republicans were asked the same question many responded with anger and moral-indignity saying that such practises were not only sinful but led to promiscuity,pregnancy and greater pleasure during sex...something many said they wanted no part of. 

Naturally both John McCain and Barack Obama claim to be 'shavers' owing to the fact that McCain is a maverick, and as such he has to take a ride on the wild side of this issue, and Senator (at the time) Obama said that he 'grew up doing it...ah...and would continue to do it... until such time as he stops doing it.'

Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin followed the standard Republican view saying that 'hockey moms don't have TIME to shave their pubic hair...OR their legs...or anything else!...and we are proud of it!'

Joe Biden, on the other hand revealed this interesting tidbit:

"Where do you think I got the stuff they used for my hair-transplant?"

Personally, I always thought his coiffure was a little too kinky...
