The lady on the right is correct

The right is crazy

With regard to all the town hall meetings, I feel that this is just typical of the right. Healthcare in this country is obviously broken, but right wingers cannot admit that because they are in bed with insurance companies. Just look at who's lobbying who: The insurance lobby was a leading force in killing President Bill Clinton's attempt to revamp health care in 1993 and 1994. They are at it again. Insurance companies have made some half hearted efforts to make some changes like, considering issuing policies to persons with pre-existing conditions and half-heartedly talking about lowering cost's. These diminutive efforts are just not enough. Healthcare in this country just cost's too much and insurance companies are to blame. The Republican Party in Florida received 4.5 million dollars from the insurance lobby in 2007 and that is nothing to sneeze at. To put it plan and simple, these Republicans owe and they owe big. The insurance lobby is cracking the whip and saying "get to work boys and save our business". These insurance companies deserve to fold!!!!!! They have had every opportunity to do this thing correctly (lower costs, provide better care and allow for pre-existing conditions). The private sector has failed our country as it relates to healthcare. The basic understanding in this country is this "The more money you have the better healthcare you can get". This understanding works very well when you're talking about cars, homes, and clothes. This is the American Way!!!! When it comes to healthcare this understanding is KILLING PEOPLE!!! If you look at Maslow and his hierarchy of needs you will find that physiological needs come first...even before safety, love and esteem. What President Obama seems to understand is that the physiological needs of all Americans must be met in order for Americans to meet our other needs. Basically stated, if I'm sick I'm not worried about the safety of my street or attaining prestige at my job. I JUST WANT TO GET WELL!!! There are people in this country who care first about the cost of the illness as opposed to the illness itself and that is a shame. I feel in my heart that our President is doing the correct thing, but he is fighting that right-wing machine that is fueled by the insurance lobby's money. There is a definite need for reform and I think we will get it. We must FIGHT!!!!!!

Hi KStallings-welcome to hub pages. While I can appreciate your opinion and can even see the logic in some of your justifications for needed healthcare reform-I must disagree with you. My negative opinion on the healthcare reform bill is based on the facts of questionable wording within the bill, how it is going to be managed and dictated and the overall cost. I wholeheartedly agree we need some form of reform to our healthcare system. I do not agree that I as an indivdual taxpayer and someone who chooses to work and make financial sacrifices so that I can pay insurance premiums in order to cover my family with healthcare should loose decision making powers over that coverage or be forced to pay for coverage for those who refuse to pay for themselves. I am a conservative republican and my view is completely unrelated to the insurance lobbyist you blame above. I am simply an american taxpayer who disagrees with this bill.

When our government comes to take away your freedom of chioce in your right to health care and some government offical tells you that your to sick or to old to have any health care. Now other bills like the cap and trade bill were passed and your utility companys are now making you pay the tax the government put on them. You don't have a job anymore because the cost is to great to get their. Your burning fire wood to heat your home and candles for light come back and tell me it was great we passed the health care bill.
