So you want to increase search engine traffic. Of course that is what most of us here on HubPages want. I have no clue how many people write on HubPages for money or how many write just to write. Never the less it doesn't matter because money or not you still want people reading your hubs. So I have an idea how we can all increase search engine traffic.

First off you need to know this isn't something silly like you click mine and I will click yours. I know at the moment you are thinking this really sounds tacky but I ask you to bare with me while I explain. I have a great idea to help all of us increase search engine traffic. The cool thing for all of you is most of the extra work will be done by me. All any of you will really need to do is write good hubs and maybe participate in a poll or two.

Well if you are still here then I guess it's time I move on with this hub before I bore you to death.

Okay. I have told you that I am working on a way to help all of us increase search engine traffic to our hubs. It's really quite simple. I know people are always looking for a way to get another backlink or a way to get a little more traffic to their hubs.

Well, I was lying in bed last night thinking of a way to build more traffic to my hubs but in the same breath help my fellow hubbers as well. I fell asleep with no answers. However when my work phone rang at 1 in the morning, it was after I hung up that I came up with a bit of an idea. Of course at 1 in the morning it was all a bit blurry but never the less I had an idea to help all of us to increase search engine traffic.

I thought about it all day and weighed out the pros and cons and decided the heck with it. I decided that I am going to go forward with my idea and see what happens. At first I thought some would think the idea was corny but then decided that who ever wants to participate will and who ever doesn't will not.

Okay, I know those interested are saying quit beating around the bush and tell us what you are talking about.

I will in a minute. First you need to know this isn't a trick or something to get you to buy anything. My only intention here is to help myself and anyone else increase search engine traffic to their hubs.

Okay, I guess it's time to get to my point.

I have built a blogger blog, bought a domain name and it will all be dedicated to getting traffic for myself and others who are on HubPages.

So how am I going to do this? Well I think almost everyone loves a contest so that is how I am going to get Hubbers participating.

The contest will have prizes. However the biggest prize of all will be backlinks and search engine traffic.

I will also be writing tons of articles to send traffic to the blog and help build it's ranking. I was going to have a Hub of the day but I'm not sure I can commit to that. So what I will do is on a daily basis just pick a Hub I really enjoy and post it on the blog.

Then throughout the week I will have Hubbers send me an email with a Hub they think should be nominated for Hub of the week. At the end of the week out of all the emails I will choose one Hub to be Hub of the week. The winner of Hub of the week will get 2 articles written to promote their hub. The articles will be directed at the blog and the particuliar Hub.

As for blog of the month I will be paying 20 dollars via paypal to the winner of this plus they will get 4 articles wrote and directed at their hub.

So how will Hub of the month be determined? I think what I will do at the end of each month is set up a poll for one week with all the weekly winners. So in reality that would usually be 4 Hubs on the poll. The poll will have a one week dating on it. After the week expires the winner will be choosen by whatever the poll suggests. Then the winner would be paid 20 dollars via PayPal and have 4 articles wrote that would be directed at their hub.

Of course all contests have to have some rules. I also want to make these as feasable to as many Hubbers as possible. I do know that everything won't suit everyone all the time but that would only be in a perfect world anyways.

So what are the rules for the increase search engine traffic contest?

1.You can not nominate your own Hub (for those with multiple accounts all I can do is ask that we act on the honor system)

2.Only one nomination per week per Hubber. (your hubs can be nominated several times but you may only choose one per week).

3.Don't waste your time with spammy Hubs. I will just delete the nomination. That doesn't mean a well written Hub on a product or something. I'm sure you know what I mean when I say spammy Hubs.

4.I will choose one Hub a day out of the nominations to be posted on the blog. It will get a brief description and it will get linked.

5.I will choose one Hub at the end of each weak out of that weeks nominations. It will get one article written and submitted to Ezine articles plus it will be one of four finalists for the end of the month prize.

6.At the end of each month I will post the four winners in a poll and all Hubbers will have one week to vote on the one they like best. The person with the highest rankings in the poll will be the winner and second and third and so fourth.

7.Prizes-First place will get $20 deposited into their PayPal plus 4 articles written and submitted to Ezine Articles. Each Article will be pointed at the blog and the particuliar Hub. Second place will get $10 and 3 articles. Third place will get $5 and 2 articles and finally fourth place will get 1 article written.

These are all tentative and I will be relying on the help of all Hubbers for their input so I can post a final hub with all the rules. Once the final rules are posted they will be final.

One other thing I need to stress here is this will only work with participation. I will be doing a lot of extra work to make this successful so I will be counting on Hubbers for participation and to tell others about it. I'm not going to pay money out of my own pocket if we only have a few people participating.

The more participation the better. This will help get the ranking of the blog built faster which in turn gives you a chance to have your Hub listed on a high ranked blog.

So for now this is where I am going to end this Hub. I will need as much input as possible over the next few days. Tell other Hubbers about it. Lets get everyone involved.

Once I have that I will then build the final Hub and we will be able to get on our way.

Like I said I have already bought the domain name. I know that prize money isn't much to many but to others its more than they make in months. Something more important than the money is the backlinks you can receive.

I know this isn't the most well written Hub you have ever read but it is what it is for now.

So now I will be waiting for comments and ideas so in probably about 5 days I can work on the Final blog and we can get things underway.
