What boy isn't interested in cars at some point in their life? Young boys seem especially fascinated by cars, racing and crashing them during playtime, or bringing them along everywhere they go. Car-themed children's birthday parties have become very popular, and it is the perfect choice for the child who loves playing with cars. Like many little boys, our son loves playing with cars. He can't get enough of this classic toy. In fact, we celebrated his 3rd birthday with a car-themed party. Here are some ideas that you could use for planning a car-themed birthday party:

1. Use clever wording on the invitation to reflect the car theme. For example:

• Race on over to celebrate....
• Start your engines...
• Join us at the starting line...
• Zoom on over...
  

2. Incorporate some car-themed tableware. For example:

• Use table covers, cups, plates, napkins, etc. with background designs having cars, race flags, tires, etc. If on a budget, choose car-themed party supplies with bigger impact and mix in solid color pieces (i.e. use car-themed tablecloths and cups paired with solid-colored plates and napkins).

3. Decorate with festive mylar or latex balloons; hang checkered black and white race flags and/or black and white streamers.

4. Hang a checkered "Happy Birthday" banner with the celebrant's name.

5. Place a race car centerpiece on the main table, or build a tower of cupcakes topped with flags or cars. You can also use a pinata in the shape of a car to double as a centerpiece and party game.

6. Bake the cake in a car-shaped cake pan, or decorate the cake or cupcakes with car-themed accessories.

7. Thank your guests for coming with goody bags filled with car-themed party favors. Place your guests names on the goody bags using personalized name tags or stickers/labels reflecting the party theme.
