Country Song, Musicians Wanted

A Child Doesn’t Last

Love your little babies

Tender, sweet and pure

Tomorrow’s comin’ fast now

This I know for sure

A child doesn’t last

They grow up way too fast

Turn around and they’re singing your song

Cryin’ toothaches and bubbles

Now it’s heartaches and troubles

You know a child doesn’t stay young for long

They’ll playin’ in the daylight

doin’ homework on school nights

Now it’s out every night on the town

And you ask yourself so hard …

Did you use every right card?

Did you teach them to stay safe and be sound?

Did you teach them what’s right?

Did you hold them real tight?

Do they know that you love ’em for life?

Watch your boys and your girls

Discover love in this world

Watch ’em grow to be honest and strong

And you’ll never stop lovin’

Your creation from heaven

Even if they make some choices wrong

Just be there when they need you

And hope that they heed you

Pick ’em up when they come to you down

When they fall out of love

Start your searchin’ above

Give ’em strength that they need to rebound

Always try to remember

Every storm that you weather

Only helps ’em win further along

For a child doesn’t last

They grow up way too fast

Turn around and they’re singing your song

So try and make moments last …

And remember the past

Through the love of a beautiful song
