If you read my review of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, you would know that I wasn't impressed with that hotel. However, the show KA, by the Cirque du Soleil is worth stepping into the MGM.

This theater inside of the MGM Casino is amazing. All of the seats are great, but the show is choreographed for the center seats. The show opens with a pre-show made up of aerial feats on industrial scaffolding which is installed above the audience seats. The air is filled with sounds of a chittering howling language as the cast members fly above you and rappel down from the heights of the ceiling.

This pre-show also includes a funny and special message to all the audience members who are carrying cell phones and cameras.

The unique thing about Cirque du Soleil's KA is their incredible moving stage.   It rises and falls, turns to become a vertical wall, spins to become a rotating tabletop, and the lighting effects change the surface to transform it from ballroom to wall of ice to sandy beach. Immense pillars lift and drop the stage floor, even disappearing from the audience's view during some scenes like the sea-storm scene, pictured above.

The music is enthralling. The choreography mixes dance, martial arts, olympic gymnastic, incredible aerial feats and line work, pyrotechnics (yes, fireworks) and amazing costumes.

One could not say enough about the talented cast, but let's just say that they are more than just pretty faces. Each member of the cast is incredibly gifted.

KA has amazing visuals, amazing music, and the scenes challenge your senses. The advertising boasts that you will not Believe what you see. And it is true. Scenes will blow you away, invite you to watch, and draw you in - It is truly a remarkable show.
