Don't be embarrassed...

No one likes the idea of having a doctor or anyone else looking at your backside in detail but a colonoscopy is so important for anyone over the age of fourty and especially anyone who has at least one parent with a history of colon cancer or any type of cancer that seems to run in your family.

Personally, BOTH my parents DIED of colon cancer so I'm at double risk of getting it. That's why I've gotten over my shyness and I've had two already.

There's nothing to it. All you have to do is make the appointment, oh, and drink a bunch of nasty stuff to clean you out. Really, ask anyone and they'll tell you that's the worst part, drinking the stuff. When you are admitted, they will most likely either give you something to either put you into a semi-conscience state or just knock you out. I prefer to just take a nap myself.

When you wake up or when it's over, you won't remember them doing a thing. Your doctor will tell you if you have any polyps or not. Polyps will turn into cancer if they are not taken out in time. That's why it's so important to get a colonoscopy every three to five years if you are at risk.

Please, Please make an appointment!
