The night before the party havin a real party:.)

Slumber Party

Yee haaaa!

When my daughter was turning 8 years old, I racked my brain for a birthday party idea. At the time money was an issue, yet I didn't want that to affect her special day.

I knew she loved horses and country ways so I created a country girls birthday party.

I went and picked up some of her friends for a sleepover. They giggled and giggled with glee all the home.

That night I gave them a bunch of party face paint and let them decorate themselves silly. Then I gave them several of my old clothes and accessories along with what she had for play and let them play dress up. They were totally hilarious, they had a complete fashion show and red carpet walk. My two little boys were right along with them as you can see. They had so much fun.

Then came the birthday party the next day. I sit them all down and colored rosy cheeks, freckles and big eyelashes. Then I put their hair in two braids and they put on their prairie dresses with their cowgirl hats.

I turned on country gospel music and they danced in the yard, swinging their long skirts, laughing, running and enjoying one another.

I ordered pizza so we took our covered wagon with presents, food and drinks out to field and had a prairie picnic. They loved it, food tasted better out there.

Then they played on toy horses and did cowgirl stuff ( we wished we had real horses).

They soon came in and ate homemade cake with a cowgirl decoration on it, they acted like they liked it better than store bought. ( While I was mixing it I had a batter explosion, oh well they had a good laugh:.)

After the party was over I drug out all of my daughters Barbie houses and Barbie's and set a whole little town in my living room. You think it was Christmas the way their eyes lit up (cluttering the living room is suppose to be a no no, but not on birthdays:.)

Parents soon came to pick up their sleepy kids ( who partied late the night before) who later commented how their children went on and on how much fun they had.

I have spent more money on other birthdays, but to this day this homemade fun party has the best memories.
