A Disgrace To The Yankees

I have been a Yankees fan my entire life. It has always been weird because I'm a Chicago girl who loves the Yankees. I always thought that the worst influence the Yankees ever had could have been Babe Ruth, the alcoholic, asshole who may have been one of the world's best baseball players but was an all-time jerk.

But now, we have an all-time low level of disgrace to the pinstripes. Alex Rodriguez was supposed to be a great help for the Yankees but since he was traded to the Yankees they have done worse than they have in the last decade. His personal life continues to make the headlines of tabloids. A-Rod cheats on wife and he uses steroids. He is a disgrace to the Yankee pinstripes.

What happened after he got off of steroids, did he get a better rep? NO! He started to sell the Yankees signs to other teams. To me, this is an ultimate disgrace, no matter what team you are on. He is always looking out for himself in a team sport and in doing so, he's making the Yankees reputation worse than it's been lately.

A-Rod is not a Yankee. He will never be a Yankee. When people look down in baseball history they remember players that were screwed up, like Babe Ruth, as Yankees, but A-Rod is not a Yankee.

I agree with you that A-Rod is a jerk. The fling with Madonna just makes him look even more ridiculous.

Unfortunately, there are too few real "heroes" in professional ballplaying anymore. Seems that the ones who get all the glory for their superb playing are flawed human beings.

I also don't like traitors. I will NEVER forgive Johnny Damon for defecting to the Yankees from the Red Sox or Manny Ramirez for defecting to the LA Dodgers. F them!

I actually may have forgiven Johnny Damon, he has gotten his act together. I love Joe Torre, bad move for the Yankees getting rid of him, look who is doing best in the league... the Dodgers! I think that a true baseball hero is Jorge Posada or Bernie Williams. Both are/were always Yankees and are great guys. I respect them both and when I met Bernie Williams, he was more amazing than I ever thought he would be.

Looking back in baseball history, don't forget Lou Gehrig. That was one great man.
