-Is the conscious blind or is it divine?

-Why does the conscious argue us in bad choices we decide?

-Why does conscious still exist in an unconscious mind?

-Is the conscious free or is it intervention of the divine?

-How great it would be to live as an animal with unconscious thoughts.

-A true free life it would be with no loss.

-Does an animal have conscious when it makes a wrong act?

-Where is the conscious when humans act as animals and attack?

-Is our unconscious acts simply nature of the beast?

-Why does our conscious say different with regret and lack of peace?

-Will you respect your conscious in your evolution of growth?

-Or will you refuse to listen as an unconscious host?

Nice hub and now a quote from my favorite person on conscience...

“A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Hello bayareagreatthing, Thank You for reading and commenting. Much thanks to you and your son. Remind yourself and your son that no one can unlock his conscience unless he gives them the key. It is very hard to maintain an individual conscience in the marines yet, still possible. Thank You.

Thank You for reading and commenting Nancy, Much appreciated as always.

Excellent Quote, I much agree with it. I would add that the strive is for an indvidual conscience. I think the follower society dillutes most peoples conscience. I believe when they individualize, they find the core of his/her conscience.

What is the difference between conscience and soul? Is it the same thing? I think i have a conscience but iam not sure, sometimes it takes a vacation. I enjoyed your hub thanks.

I don't think our conscious takes a vacation from us, I think we take a vacation from our conscience. As far as soul, not sure. However, most that have a clear conscience are likely happy souls.

Very provoking marine! I think having conscious is an essential thing or we will all be lost! Conscious is a group of memories, early teachings, culture and many other things that make us what we are now... We create our own fortune and we can manipulate our own conscious too.

Hello advisor, Thank You for reading and commenting. I do believe in karma as well, however, it is close to impossible to map compared to consciousness.

One thought I would like to add on karma. If karma was proven, we wouldn't need prisons, human intervention to deal with those that do wrong, correct? We could rely on karma if it was so. I wouldn't trust karma to keeping a rapist or murderer off of the street. Agreed? Thank You.

Hello Shamel, Thank You for reading/commenting sir. I mostly agree with your comments. I would like to add, I don't think all conscious decisions are taught or learned. I think some conscious decisions are already part of our nature. When we are faced with a decision which we have never encountered or been taught, our conscious still has a say. Thank You.

Hello Marine,

My comment is a question.

How does conscious differ from conscience?

conscious adj. Having an awareness of one's environment and one's own existence, sensations, and thoughts ..

conscience n. The awareness of a moral or ethical aspect to one's conduct together with the urge to prefer right over wrong:

Now, we know very little about the subconscious mind and its total function. The subconscious part of the mind must be where the right/wrong filter is located. I am just guessing. I suspect, that you do something on a conscious level but the subconscious filter flags the play. Your conscious mind can then override the flag, if you choose it to do so.

Another question might be concerning whether the subconscious mind has a preset wiring or whether it learns and stores from your experience in an environment.

Sorry, I got carried away with your topic.

Hello opinion duck, Thank You for reading, commenting.

I don't see much difference in conscious and conscience.

Maybe conscious is awareness and conscience is moral awareness. lol just a guess.

I think it is definately a possiblity the subconscious has a preset. When I think back to big decisions I was faced with which were new situations to me, when I did my idea of right, I feel like I made a good decision of conscience for the given situation.

My question is, why don't other animals learn and teach awareness of conscience and conscious decisions of morality? Why are we the only known life with a conscience?

opinion duck  says:

Thanks Marine

As to your question about animals, I believe that they are wired to survive and what they do is just survival and not moral or immoral.

The question of why we are different from animals, that is the tough one. That question cannot be correctly answered until we know more about how and why we are here.

I do believe that when we domesticate animal we see a little bit of how we act and react. These animals no longer have to worry so much about survival and many of them take on their masters human traits. This may give some insight as to how we are wired.

Morality and conscience are relative to each society. People that act differently in a society from the norm are treated as threats to that society and they are targeted to get back to the norm.

Right and wrong are not black and white, they are shades of gray. You would think that it should be inherent to all humans to have the same concept of right and wrong.

There are many more variable associated with humans than animals and they manifest themselves in different actions and morality. This would even account for why some people know that they are doing bad things but they justify what they are doing based on why they need to do them.

As for conscious and conscience, the former just means you are aware of what you are doing, while the latter means you know whether you think it was a good or bad thing that you were doing.

my opinion.......

Hello Opinion Duck, Thank You for reading and commenting.

Always appreciated. Sorry, but I don't have anything to add to it. I did enjoy reading all of it. My brain is fried from working last night. lol

Why do you think our mind has more complexities than other animals? This question is the one that gets me.

The choices I have thought about is whether our minds are divine or chance. Possibly they could be a combination. I have no idea right now. lol

Marine

Good questions from you and as usual I have my opinion, after all I am the "opinion" duck.

First, it is a fact that humans have the largest brains and that means more memory and more connections. While animals and creatures can adapt and innovate humans can control, develop and artificially live in most any environment. Humans also have creativity, the ability to imagine and make their imagination a reality.

I believe that you real question is not what humans can do, but why are they are and what are they supposed to do here. Above all, are they special or just an adaptation of dna?

One can conclude from the way that humans have acted and reacted for over six thousand years, that they have not evolved to be able to utilize their intelligence. They can create things but they haven't changed their emotions and their primitive side.

These attributes of humans don't seem to rate being a creation of a God or divinity. To be a divine creation one would imagine an improvement in how we act and live compared to advance in technology. While we live better because of technology we are not really much different from our ancestors. We have not improved our society and our individualism since recorded history.

Wouldn't you expect more from a divine creation then you see in people today? I do.

Does it really matter that we don't know why we are here and what is our purpose? Couldn't we live our lives out the same way even if there wasn't an after life? If God created us in his image and this is the best that he could do, then why would anyone think that heaven is any better designed than Earth life?

Remember, the Bible points out severe problems in Heaven, what with the Devil and bad Angels.

What would be the attributes of a Divine creation and how many of them are found in humans?

I just had a thought, that while it doesn't pertain directly to your hub, I think you might enjoy it.

Doesn't the Noah story sound a lot like the Santa story? When we grew up, it was apparent that Santa couldn't go around the world in one night. How could Noah do what he was recorded as doing?

Hello Opinion Duck, Your opinions and individual thoughts are always appreciated. Afterall, Individual thoughts are rare. We are a dying breed.

You are right about my "main" question. Spot on.

I agree that we haven't proved we are divine in anyway by learning from our past.

My question is, why the ability to learn and teach when a lot of us do not use it? Doesn't make sense to me.

As far as living without figuring out purpose, this is hard for me. I like to have purpose to define and understand what it is that I am doing, if not, it is the same as faith.

lol as far as noah and santa, they provide entertainment to me.

I believe and think you may agree that the sole purpose of the bible and religion is to control people giving them something to believe in efforts to keep them from acting as animals.

opinion duck  says:

Marine

Glad you liked my comment and the Santa reference.

I agree with you on the control issue for the bible and religion. This is definitely a non divine attribute.

As for the purpose in life, is anything that you do here going to be useful even if there is an after life?

First off, you can have a purpose without an after life and it is what you do here that affects you and others. In the after life there is no concept of family as we know it here. There is also no criteria for how to get to Heaven. How is the performance of your life versus others put you in Heaven or not. Suppose you did one less thing than someone else, but they went to Heaven and you didn't. How unfair would that be?

The criteria for Heaven is about the same as getting on Santa's list, but you would know about Santa's list every Christmas morning.

You mention that you need to have your purpose defined, but what would be your purpose in an after life?

Hello opinion duck, Thank You for adding more thoughts.

On the afterlife question, I think the root of the question would be whether there is punishment and reward in the afterlife or is punishment and reward simply based on human invention.

I will say in nature, I believe we have punishment and reward. I we treat our bodies badly, nature has a way of letting us know. May there is punishment within nature. Maybe what energy we put in is the energy we receive in the afterlife. I don't know of course until I die, all just thoughts.

I have no idea what my purpose would be in the afterlife is there is an afterlife. lol. It's hard enough to figure out my purpose alive! lol I am curious to know whether purpose is random or divine. This is my unanswered question in search of purpose.

I believe favoritism of getting into a heaven is man made. Another question would be if nature shows favoritism or is it just random?

Every one has their own beliefs in God, some believe there is a 'something' out there - a higher power of sorts. Albiet the Bible is written by man, but it is a good philosophy to live your life by. God created man in his own image. Man is not perfect and we all make mistakes, this is just part of life, the freedom to choose how we wish to live our lives weather it be good or evil.

You have interesting questions and thoughts.

I simply wish you could understand individual open belief to questions of the divine rather than the assumptions of the bible.

The bible is not divine.

Thank You

You always ask the tough questions.

Purpose? Random or Divine

This is like an equation with three unknowns.

Random

is unplanned, unscheduled it just happens.

Divine

is a Deity or Creator

Purpose

is why our we here and what are we to accomplish while we are here.

Lets start with the easier one of Divine.

Have we seen any sign of a Divine nature?

Have we seen any sign things happening on their own?

Outside of the Bible, there are none to be found.

Random: There are many things that happen such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, fires but these are attributed to our environment. They are not good things that we expect from a God. Until they happen we have no real concept that they are coming. Sure, when the are in action but not why they need to occur in the first place.

Purpose: We don't know why or how we exist and in that aspect we are no different than any creature from the Amoeba and all living things from there up to us. Certain things just exist from the DNA chemistry pot. Out of that pot comes all sorts of life forms, These forms function but I doubt that they recognize their purpose.

Our brain and our body are enveloped in a container having trillions of cells. These cells are specialized and function together. This is much like an ant colony, except the ant colony doesn't have a container.

If you give credit to Divine for us, then you also have to give it credit for the ants. Of course, you could instead give credit to Random just as well.

So, after all is said and done, we have to define our own purpose, because we have the intelligence.

my opinion.....

Hello Opinion Duck, Thank You for adding.

I believe that if anything at all is divine, maybe our conscious minds to search for purpose. I believe it stops there with no other intervention if we are/were intervened.

That is pretty much the only question I have to know if anything is divine. Why our minds have the ability to individualize.
