In an earlier hub we pegged the social bookmarking realm at about 60 million unique visitors a month, which is up about 70% from a year ago. Clearly bookmarking is catching on with users everywhere. Some of the growth has come from the sites in the shopping niche, like Kaboodle and Stylefeeder, both of which made the July BuzzMarker.com HOT 25 list for the best social bookmarking sites.

But there's a small group at the bottom of the tracking list of more than 125 sites, with traffic under 10k per month in unique visits -- and we wonder out loud if the next rising star in the space might emerge from this group of "little guys."

At less than 10k in traffic per month, there's only two places for these guys to go. Up or out. Should be interesting to watch how this group plays out in the coming months. As a side note, Yattle is the newest player in the group, having just come online in December.
