What could be more satisfying than the savory smell of something cooking in a crock pot?  As the weather continues to stay on the cold side here in SO CA ( yes, it is all relative to where you live - cold side here is in the mid 30's to low 40's)  crock pot recipes are once again family favorites.

Here is a recipe I just recently fixed and family and friends were raving about it.

Bean Casserole - Serves 14

  • 6 slices of bacon - microwave 7 minutes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 can B & M baked beans
  • 1 can butter beans
  • 1 can lima beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Combine all the ingredients in your crock pot.  It is not necessary to drain all the liquid off the beans, but you may prefer to, depending on your sodium requirements.  Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.

I'll have to try this recipe soon. Winter weather and crockpot cooking go so well together!
