Young and upcoming actresses usually fall victims to this fad of dying to be thin. Lindsay, Mary Kate Olsen, and Nicole Ritchie are just some of the highly photographed stars who turn from 6 to a staggering 0 in just a fortnight. Recently, Taylor Momsen has been added to this list. With the many tabloid articles and pictures showing off her frail appearance, Momsen is part of the Gossip Girl quiz due to rumors spreading about her alleged bout with anorexia.

Momsen, 15, owes her popularity to the hit teen soap opera Gossip Girl (starring as Jenny Humphrey in the said show) that really took off as one of the biggest teen shows since the original Beverly Hills 90210. With her blonde hair, blue eyes, doll face and small frame, Taylor Momsen has always been described by Gossip Girl quizzes as the model gorgeous star of the show. But the tabloids are claiming that her twiggy body is not a product of a good pair of genes but of anorexia.

Her recent photos have shown a stark physical transformation from her healthier body in the past months. From 122 lbs last year, she dropped to a thin 108 lbs. For a very tall girl like her, her weight doesn't match at all. It was said that this weight loss issue started when Taylor had to film a Gossip Girl scene in a bra. The stress of looking perfect for the part has sent Momsen plunging from a size 2 to a 0. "Taylor's been doing liquid fasting cleanses for a few weeks," disclosed the source. "The problem is that she's done several back to back....She's entirely too thin. Her shoulder bones are way too pronounced, and her clavicle bones are sticking out."

Taylor Momsen quickly denied the anorexia issues and clarified the issues about her rumored eating disorder. "I'm just kind of naturally thin. My mom's really thin, and I'm tall. Good genes... I just eat healthy. I walk a lot because I live in New York. So I try to walk a lot instead of taking cabs... I should probably start working out or something. I dance, so I guess that's a full workout. I've been dancing since I was three, so I guess that would be it."

Her statement doesn't stop the rampaging rumors. Pictures of her rail-thin appearance are still a main target of tabloid news and Hollywood rumors. Her transformation from a very sweet and innocent look to a more seductive and come hither do also has everyone talking about her following the footsteps of controversial Hollywood young stars gaining a bad reputation for using drugs and alcohol.

The Gossip Girl rumor and quizzical looks about her body were compounded when she was hospitalized last week for a sore throat. Tabloids are claiming that she was hospitalized due to her battle with anorexia. Co-stars from Gossip Girl immediately defended her saying that Momsen got sick because of working too hard on set.

A source close to the 15-year-old actress says that Momsen was in L.A. to take a school exam when she "woke up with a sore throat. She thought it was just a common cold, but was advised to see an ear, nose & throat specialist before getting on a plane back to New York."
