I am a physician by profession, orthopedic surgeon by specialty, network marketing consultant and network marketer by choice. I was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to the United states in 1965, came here for futher training in orthopedic surgery , decided to settle in Houston, Texas, practiced this specialty for more than thirty years in the industrial city southeast of Houston and retired my private practice in 2004.

Earlier in my carrier as a physician and orthopedic specialist, I realized the futility of living from pay check to pay check and the fact that every physician practitioner has difficulty of leveraging his time and services. He is exchanging time for dollars.

I could teach my expertise to my fellow-physicians which is a very commendable activity for the sake to improving professional competence. But the physicians I trained. and shared my expertise could not duplicate my income.They go out on their own and earn their own living, not for my own financial benefit. Ideally, medical practice is service to the community primarily, not for one's financial benefit..

So while I was busy practicing my specialty , I was already looking into online businesses that can leverage my time. I found that Network marketing requires a lot of learning curves. As everybody knows, 97 percent of network marketers fail. There are a number of reasons why this is true.

Most of the start-up companies fail after two years, according to statistics, only about 25% of start-up companies survive after two years. The experience of the management in network marketing , the integrity of the management, the type and effectiveness of the compensation plan, the type and demand of the products, the methods of marketing the products, and effective mentoring system are important factors for the company's success.

I have enrolled in several network marketing companies in the internet. I made some money in some. I lost a lot of money in most of them. While I was busy with my orthopedic practice, my lack of focus and failure to analyze the companies I enrolled in using the recent 5 Pillars of basic criteria for analyzing companies that are most likely to succeed are two most impartant factors for my network marketing failures.

I learned the hard way. Now I can teach network marketers what not to do and what to do to succeed. When you are network marketing, you are in the vast ocean of adventure, where most of the areas you travel are dangerous. There are a lot of predators out there.. Your inexperience makes you more vulnerable to spend more and more money and precious time without significant profit to show in your bank account.

So a "Pearl of Wisdom" is to analyze the company before you enrol using the 5 Pillars Basic Criteria which I learn from my mentor,

BASIC CRITERIA FOR A 5 PILLARS COMPANY . Pillar #1) Does Company Management Leadership Have Proven MLM Experience WITH Integrity? Have they actually built downlines themselves, or just a bunch of suits from a corporate background? If they haven't built downlines themselves, then they don't know what you are going through. Have you actually read their policies and procedures contract? How many pages is it? (less is usually better)

Our corporate officers have actually built downlines themselves with other companies, our CEO has the world record for the largest downlines in network marketing history (over 100,000 before the Internet!) 2 others have great track records also. No derogatory history, or any bad reputations for any corp officers.

Pillar #2) Timing of the COMPANY and Timing of the INDUSTRY. Who's the TARGET MARKET for the PRODUCTS? Is there a huge demand? Is it a long term, large market trend? Run from Startups. The MORE of a name recognition your company has, the LESS opportunity there is.

Pillar #3) Product(s) has to be REMARKABLE!! If not you are invisible--Not overpriced consumables.. Good enough that NON-Networkers will take them to the market.

Pillar #4) Walk away retirement income of $10,000 per month for having 350 or less people collectively multiplied on 100 points auto-ship/$140--$160 per mo. The least number I have seen is 247 people for $10,000 per month (Walk away permanent retirement income) Just as important is immediate substantial income for part time beginners!!
