Chocolate chip cookies are an American favorite, but did you know they are also highly revered in Latin America? There are a few different variations (as there are in English), but the basic recipe stays the same.

Galletas (Cookies) Con (With) Chispas (Chips) de (of) Chocolate (Chocolate)

Ok, enough with the Spanish lessons, let's get on with the recipe!

2 sticks of unsalted butter 2 eggs

2 tsp of milk

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (preferably Nestle)

1 tsp baking soda

2 1/4 cups of flour

1 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

Cooking Ware:

Parchment or wax paper

Baking sheets

Mixer

First, heat oven to 400 degrees.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.

Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda and move aside so you don't make a mess.

Pour the melted butter in the mixer's bowl.

Add the sugar and brown sugar.

Blend the butter and sugars well on medium speed.

Add the eggs, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

Slowly incorporate the flour mixture until thoroughly combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Chill the dough, then scoop onto parchment-lined baking sheets, 6 cookies per sheet.

Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown, checking the cookies after 5 minutes.

Cool completely and enjoy!
