A Hope for New Life
61
Grey visions come to me in noirish dreams
Like shadows of ghosts past
Appearing through smoke screens
Empty whispers, my way, are cast
Silent is their unspoken plea
A beseeching felt, though gone unseen
Yet from the edges of unconscious thought
Comes to me a warmth; some rosy glow
From within the haunting black is wrought
An image so pure it rivals virgin snow
The beginnings of a memory, faded by time?
Silken petals unfurl provocatively
Proffering stamen, full with the promise of Life
A miraculous sign in all its simplicity
