A Hub About Me

The great Ryan Hupfer wrote me and asked me to write a hub about me. One of the toughest things in writing can be writing about myself, but I'll give it my best shot.

Yep, that's my ugly mug to the right. It has aged immensely in the last year. If you have read my hubs you know that my grandson was murdered on June 23rd, 2007. I won't go into that; you can read my other hubs to learn more about that.

My Life

I was born in 1963 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dad was in the service, so we moved a lot. My brother was born in Japan. I have lived in many, many places. I have lived a life that has found me doing many different types of work. I was at one time a drug addict; I have been to prison ( 20+ years ago) for selling 1 ounce of marijuana for $40. While in prison, I found that I love to write.I never did anything with it after I was out until after Jonathan's death. That is where hubpages comes in.

My little brother gave me this computer for a gift and I started working with it. I wanted Jonathan's story out. I want child abuse and neglect stopped. I have used this computer to attempt to educate and inform the world what is happening. I have made several sites, the links are below. I tried writing for other sites but I have found hubpages to be my favorite. This site is the best!!

I will admit too that making a bit of money at it helps too! I am on layoff at this time and unemployment isn't the best.

My Family

We live in the Missouri Ozarks. It is beautiful here.

I am married (26 years); we have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Pictures are at right.

I have made so many friends here on hubpages. I love the fact that no matter our beliefs, we can all still "get along". I have made friends from all over the world here on hubpages.

You will also see from some of my hubs that I am a collector. I collect all kinds of things but mainly coins and ballcards. I have written hubs about both. Check them out!

If you have any other questions about me just ask. I will probably answer unless it's too personal.

Like I said, it sure is difficult to write about myself. I hope you learned a little something about Froggy.

Oh by the way, how I got the name Froggy. If you heard my voice you would understand. Probably smoked too much over the years. Gotta give them cigarettes up one of these days.

Froggy,

I can not imagine the pain of losing your grandchild. I lost my son to cancer and it took me 21 years before I could write an article about it.

Personally, I think that our own stories are our best material. You are very open and that is what people like.

Keep up the good work. Thank you. ~ eddie

Froggy, I read you hub yesterday, and I joined your fan club. I did not write a comment then becuase I just didn't feel like I had the words in me yet to say to you. I will try today to leave a comment that is worthy of this hub.

I am glad that you shared who you are with us, the honesty you showed was inspirational. I am so very sorry about the loss of your grandson. It's a tragedy to say the least. I hope in writing the hub that you do that you also get a bit of healing with them. I hope your friends and fans here at HP can help you to deal with this loss and give you comfort when you need it, me included.

You've had a tough ride, Froggy, but I'm glad to see you got back up on the horse with your chin up. I spent nearly a year (in 1956) at Fort Collins, and considered staying there for a while. Do you sound more like Rochester or Smiley Burnette?

I would say I sound like Rochester--kind of :))
