“A Humble Suggestion”

To the US economy crisis (Satire)

Again and again we try to turn a blind eye to the fact that we are indeed in economical calamity. This issue cannot disappear by throwing more money on it or squeezing from it what we can. So a plan must be set, backed by pure common sense, which will uphold positive results. My suggestion is that, to remain a powerful nation, we must rid of the whole poverty class in a profitable manner. This approach consists of selling, semi-annually, the lowest 1% of the nation as cheap raw meat for endangered animal species all over the world.

In the state we are in, morals should not overcome common sense and necessity. As far as the mind's eye can see this plan’s advantages greatly outshine any opposing argument. First and foremost we are relieving ourselves from the severe revenue burden set by taxes for the poor. Programs which cost billions of dollars to reduce poverty levels become no longer obligatory. The funds can be allocated to a position where it is truly needed, or better yet back to where it originated, in our pockets.

Not only are we reducing immense monetary stress but we are creating a means of financial benefit through the profit of selling the meat. The funds can then be use for an necessary cause. Economically this is also benefiting the under fortunate buying countries such as Africa. A mutual beneficial trade can be prepared for them to buy the meat for the animals at low prices. As the abundant meat is provided to the endangered carnivorous animals there becomes a less chance for both the predator to starve and the pray to pointlessly die. This rescues both animal species from possible extinction.

Aside from financial issues and endangered animals this plan also profits the U.S hegemony. As we know it US hegemony is already in a downward spiral in the competitive atmosphere brought by other nations. As the poverty rate goes down so will the rate of illiteracy, this provides helpful statistics at display on the United States. Whereas the U.S hegemony and influence remains high, the rest of the world becomes unwilling from taking hostile action or possible nuclear war. This is for the sake of the USA, this is for the betterment of the world.

Furthermore countries such and China and India will, after witnessing the abundant benefits, most likely adopt this plan and place it in action. The countries can then adjust their problem of overpopulation to suite their individual comfort zones. By reducing population in overpopulated areas this plan also applies less stress on natural resources. Hence abundant supply less demand and the quality, instead of quantity, of life is optimized.

Once the plan is no longer needed governments can freeze it until necessary. This provides flexibility for both the government and people. This plan is the balance of happiness and life where no one “lives” in misery.
