With The Utmost Respect I Ask That You Please Read These Words
This letter has come as a request from a wonderful friend of mine, who is not only just a fan he is also a wonderful writer and an inspiration snksounak I am happy to write this article and with due respect as it is time to clear the air with regards to what the majority of we as Americans believe about Muslims. I do not know what our government leads other countries to believe however we are a nation of tolerance, respect and love a majority of us do not judge people for what their beliefs are however we are intolerant of terrorist cells and organizations as to us their isn't any need to take innocent lives worldwide. It was not just Americans that they murdered on 911, it was our International brother and sisters as well, this included Muslims.
We as a Country have always been asked to intervene when it came to Wars as our allies have always asked us to assist and we were there, we believe that all are entitled to Peace and Freedom. We the American people are angered by the outcomes however we are Proud of who we are, we stand strong, we stand free and we do not turn our backs on others as we will always be there to Protect and Serve.
The letter I am about to write is not about who we are, it is about what a majority of us Americans believe as a nation. Although we cannot please everyone I hope to bring a better understanding of what many of us feel as Americans and shed light on what we really think about the Muslim religion and the people.
A Letter to Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is my understanding based on just speaking with friends of mine who are also Muslim, that their is a pre-conceived notion that Americans dislike Muslims. I have to disagree, you see it is not the Muslim religion or the people that the Americans dislike, it is the terrorist cells and organizations that we frown upon. We realize that it is not all Muslim people, and that the terrorist cells and organizations give the Muslim religion a bad reputation. Many of us clearly seperate and know the difference as we as well are angry that we are categorized as hateful people. We are not hateful, we are loving, caring Americans who would give the shirts off of our backs and food off of our plates for others. Here in the U.S. we have freedom of religion so it does not matter if you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Atheist we respect each others moral and religious beliefs. In many countries you are only entitled to be the religion that they choose for you, in the U.S. we have a choice. Our Country is made of many ethnicities and we are very diversified, so we are coming to you to let you know that we the American people do not hate nor disrepect the Muslim religion or their people. We ask that you accept this letter as a letter embracing you as a human being and that we are not judging anybody who is Muslim.
Sincerely
The American People

It's great to read the letter from you. I guess more Americans should come forward and speak their mind like this.
Just a small correction. I'm NOT a Muslim.
lady guinevere: I absolutely agree and it hurts my heart that many are lead to believe that we do not like them, my goodness that is so wrong.
snksounak: My apologize as I was jsut typing along, I corrected please read and many americans should. I would like to thank you for requesting it and I was happy to write about it.:)
Hi AEvans. I was touched by this and hope it will be ok if I write my own letter to them as well, on your hub.
Dear Muslim brothers and sister,
It is true that many Americans do not hate Muslims or Islam or otherwise. I have been to a mosque and I have read the Qua'ran and have also developed a great and passionate understanding of the Prophet Mohummad PBUH and regard your religion as good and have also understood from my muslim and islamic friends that you are a religion of peace regardless of what others are doing that is bad in name of Allah.
We have many of the same problems in America so a lot and possibly the majority do understand and we do not hate you but we are upset at the state of all the worlds fighting for peace.
As I can only speak for myself, only peace will bring peace. This is a message I wish the entire world could understand but unfortunatly I know as well as you, our brothers and sisters, that something is very wrong with the world today.
In the very near future I do pray that we can become a world of unity and peace and that no one will go hungry, cold or abandoned. That no one will have to be murders for some to live. This is not right. I wish that an appology on my behalf would be good enough but I know that it doesn't bring your loved ones back, and I know that there are many there who say and wish the same things, which is why I have come to respect Islam and Muslims and all the world as good but caught up in a bad situation.
I also cannot speak for our government, as me and a lot of us here are very disapointed them ourselves but most of us are just like you.
I know that there will always be those who have no common sense and those who will ignorantly chose to do what is bad over what is good. But please beleive us when I speak for others like myself, which are the majority, that we do love you, we do want peace and we are praying just like you that the terrorism, mistreatment, killing, wars, poverty, unjust, and famin will end.
With all respect and love in God and of people, peace be with you and so too with us.
Forever in my heart,
Sandra
Well put AEvans ! I bear no Ill will towards the Muslim community at large , I do however have a deep and abiding resentment towards Muslim extremism and the taking of Innocent lives. I am not the most loving and tolerant person on the planet and I will be the first to admit that . I do not judge people by their religion or lack thereof like some of the people on Hubpages . I judge people by their actions because that tells me who they are .
AEvans & Sandra- Thanks for those great letters to reach out to Muslim community. I hope more people realize that the actions of Bush government in Iraq or Guantanamo facility don't reflect the views of the majority Americans towards Muslims. I personally feel Americans are very open and broad minded towards others beliefs/views. It truly is a great multicultural society with respect for one and all. It is the country where Islam is the fastest growing religion. A country's greatness can be judged by how many people want to get into it and how many people want to get out of it. I have seen even some people from Middle East who may disagree with Bush's views but still love America so much that they don't want to relocate back to the country where they came from. No wonder America is the third largest country in terms of population due to large scale immigration from all over the world. Good timely hub.
AEvans,I totally agree with CW and second her views.Great hub! BTW, you had asked about Pongal and I have just published a hub about it!:)
sandra: I am happy that you as well chose to write a letter as if enough of is do it , there maybe a better understanding, it is beautifully written and well put.:)
tony0724: I sincerely appreciate your views as well as I knew you always had a soft side as well and you have shed some light in a different perspective thanks for commenting.:)
countrywomen: A majority of us disagreed with Bush's views and many of us has seen what he has done. I personall;y did not vote for him as the blood shed I did not want on my hands, but we all have to realize that it would be so dificult to run a country and he should of thought some of his decisions through, instead of someone telling him what to do. I am happy that he will no longer be in office, but with due respect he was unfortunately our President. Yes as you know we are very broad minded and do not hate, but Bush's office painited a different picture which has harmed us as a nation.:(
Laila: Thank you for writing the hub on Pongal and I am looking forward to reading it.:)
Well written hub. Canadians, like Americans, feel the same way. It is, and always has been, the extremists that are the problem.
Peace Profound!
Religious Zealots of any religion are the problem.
earnesthub: I could not agree with you more as their are the extreme religious.:)
hi, aevans, another wonderful hub from you. we know the americans are very matured people and they can identify the real culprits. good writing keep it up.
sukran: Thank you and I am glad that others do understand as sometimes others paint a horrible picture instead of seeking the truth.:)
You know, I love my country and soldiers, but I have to wonder where is our own guilt? We invade a country and kill thousands of innocent women and children yet we condemn the Muslim world, for the most part. I don't agree with their way of life, but I think this is a fallacy on our part.
I would happily sign your letter AEvans.
As has been pointed out by others, it is fundamentalists, of every stripe, that cause all the conflict, hate and intolerance.
i like it. it's a good start.

Wow that is a great letter there. I don't hate the Muslims becasue most of them are just like the rest of us with needs just like the rest of us too. I don't hate anything about them even their religious beliefs becasue we are all a part of the same oneness. It is only a select group of peoples that make things bad and the samegoes for the Gangs here in America. If the people can just see what it is like to love wehre there is violence and meet and talk to the people who are th ones getting killed by others then I think we al would have a better understanding and be more compassionate towards everyone including ourselves.
