This list is by no means exhaustive, but is meant to give you some options beyond the standard, "Good job!" An important part in communicating praise, however, goes beyond the simple words. Always try to have direct eye contact with your kiddo while expressing these simple words of praise, for this is the connection to the heart. You will find that your child or student will take your words to heart when he is able to look into your eyes and see the espression of your honest validation.

Good. I LIke and appreciate.
I like the way you think, I wish that you had been my kids teacher. I use these phrases myself, and wish that all adults thought like that, instead of tearing them down with negative comments. There is a way to praise and correct all at the same time, and I see you have mastered it, because you should always begin with praise.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! In the world of Special Education, these comments are our mantras!

Catlyn,
Wonderful hub with great suggested ways to praise children!
Children are the future. I always say that they "are little people." They need to be treated accordingly. The more you praise them the less you will have to discipline them.
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings!
