Introducing: Minute!

Who I Am

My name is Dominique. I live in the Belgian country with my family and our dog called Minute.

Minute is a dog that is half American Staff and half Labrador. She is smaller than she should be since her mother had too many babies. It is a lovely dog, so kind but... so crazy :)

I am French-speaking so, my English may not be the best (I learned this language by myself since I am 10 years old) so, please forgive my mistakes :)

I am the proud mother of a teenager who plans to become a video game designer and who already creates lots of comic strips (mangas). He has a lot of talent.

I work in an elementary school and plan to attend an IT training (Web database development) probably in April this year; in order to find a new job that I'll certainly more enjoy than what I am currently doing in this school.

My very first passion is History, particularly France History that I learn since more than 30 years now and I also love Holidays (Christmas, Carnival, Easter...).

Twenty years ago, I also discoverd a new hobby: the Tarot cards reading. I then became the fortune-teller of my friends and also have had a few customers.

Music is also a passion: I love all the kinds of musics born from the Blues, jazz, rythm and blues, motown, soul, disco...

My readings are, obviously History books but also books written by Georges Simenon, Agatha Christie, Martha Grimes, Joseph Conolly. As you probably noticed, I am a British style lover :)

My Grand-Mother And My Son In Our Garden

The Road To A Better Lifestyle

One year, I decided that my son deserved the right to have a better and healthier lifestyle than the one offered by a town. I then have been looking for a house that had a garden: buying is more interesting than renting in Belgium, so as soon as I found a house for a reasonable price, I bought it.

In July 2003, we left my home town Brussels to live in the country, what Brussels citizens call "the province".

Our small village is not wonderful but it has a train station that allowed me to continue to work in Brussels and there is a bus that drives children to school. We also have a bakery, a little grocery shop and a butcher shop.

Some months later, I lost my job in Brussels. Since I am born in a great town, I did not think to pay attention to the public transportats available in the village: in Brussels, if there is a bus stop that means that there is a bus that stops there!

In the province, that does not mean the same thing! And, since I had no car - even no driving licence! - I was unable to find a new job because of the lack of public transports. There are only three trains per day that stop in our local station!

Fortunately, I have found a part-time job in the local elementary school.

Working part-time is something that I did not knew and, although I had a lot of work in the garden and in my house, it did not take a long time before I got bored!

I thus had to find a new occupation!

How I Ended Up In The Internet Marketing Business

About Internet, I knew almost nothing until the year 2005. All what I did with this so powerful tool, was browsing some dating sites, communicate with my friends through instant messaging...

One day, a friend of mine told me that there were sites that pays us to click on links: paid to read email sites. I joined some sites under her referral link and... got quickly bored!

But... in one email there was a link to a team that taught to their members how to create an online business. I joined and met someone who became my sponsor in another program. This program taught me that Internet was a great way to share my passions with people around the world and, more importantly, they taught me how to do it.

I learned HTML, how to create a site, how to monetize it, how to drive traffic, and lots of other things. I then bought a domain name and a web host and created my first website: European Love History. It was not an easy thing to do since I am French-speaking and that I had to translate each an every article I wrote in English.

I loved it so much that I decided to create some websites dedicated to another passion of mine: Holidays. Then I created my first Holidays site which was dedicated to Christmas. This website is called Christmas Time and is my... baby.

While creating this website, I also discovered some Holidays that aren't known in Belgium: like Thanksgiving, Halloween (which is, in my country, a "new" kind of holiday). I love to learn and do not like to write about things I do not know about so I spent a lot of time to learn the history of Halloween, Thanksgiving...

Lastly, I uploaded a website dedicated to Tarot cards reading and started to write some articles for this site and added some pictures and explanatory images.

What Am I Gonna Do...

Last but not least, I even created a site dedicated to weight loss. Hey, I have to pay attention to my waiste line and wanted to share some of my experiences with the public - particularly the lap banding experience; which was the worst thing I've ever made.

I would like to learn Joomla in order to switch this site to a Joomla site and allowing people to interact with me on the weight loss subject. But it will probably be for later.

Creating and monetizing websites can be addictive, and that is what it did to me: I became addicted to the Internet marketing and started an online business by building a marketing subscribers list, joining Joint Venture Giveaways, clicking for credits in safelist and writing my first (and last) ebook on how to create an income earning website in 30 days.

I am not a good saleswoman so, it is not easy for me to convince my subscribers to buy Get Quick While Sleeping product or Earn Money By Giving Away All You Have On Your Bank Account ebook but I really love being in contact with people around the world and sharing what I learned.

What am I gonna do this year?

Well, I'll attend an IT course (Web database development) that will start on April 7th. I'll have less time to spend on my computer (half an hour per day), managing my business and will have to learn how to do what I currently do but... for someone else than myself.

Somebody asked me why I choose to attend this course and want to find a job in an IT service instead of improving my online business and remaining independant.

Well, it's easy to answer: I live in Belgium. The country where social advantages are for the employees and not for people who are independant. By having a job in a company, I'll receive a loan for the car I dream to buy: the first anti-pollution car that will be marketed this year: it drives with compressed air. I am also planning to do some remodeling in my house and my garden. And, my son and I want to go on holidays somewhere else than in our garden and our country where it rains all year long.

The training will be free - almost everything is free here. I even will be paid 1 euro per hour for this training! After six months training, I'll have six weeks test drive in a company and perhaps a contract; which will enable me to live a new life.

I'll keep in touch with my subscribers, I'll update my sites... but I'll have a new 9 to 5 job.

Well, that's a little about me.

Take care.

Very engaging profile about yourself. I've been to Belgium as a teenager, if I remember rightly it did rain a bit, but then it is such a beautiful place. Best of luck with your course.

Hello and thanks a lot for your kind comments!

Yes, my country is a beautiful place to live and could be one of the best if the weather (and the government, lol) would be... a bit more sunny ;-)
