Every day that passes,

I still think of you.

I am doing alright,

But sometimes I still feel blue.

There are so many things I wish I could let you know,

But you are no longer here for my feelings for you to show.

I remember you saying that I was the love of your life,

And how much you wanted for me to be your wife.

Yes you were with me the rest of your life,

But sadly there are chapters left in mine that are yet for me to write.

Although I was with you to your very end,

My life's path kept moving with twists and turns and bends.

I never imagined our time together would be cut short so fast,

Never once knowing that the sands were running out in your hourglass.

Forgetting to stop and just savor every second we had together,

We rushed through the two years like we had forever.

I still listen to music that we once loved to hear,

But now the sounds are bittersweet and often hurt me dear.

The songs to me are precious,

Taking me back within our time.

The memories of you and me,

When I was yours,

And you were mine.

The songs they are the same,

The emotion however has changed.

What made me happy now makes me cry.

Once giving me hope for our life ahead now reminds me of how you died.

So abrupt, So sudden, So unfair.

I sit and I listen to the music,

Weeping softly in my chair,

Inside my heart and soul though you are there.

I take out my box of photos and the letters you wrote,

As I read them all aloud.

Even your little love notes,

You sure made me proud.

It brings a smile to my face,

And tears to my eyes.

As I read your love letters,

And I sit there and cry.

I will never forget the love that you gave,

You helped me see life and appreciate every day.

The man you were to me,

Made me the woman I am today.

I know you are safe in God’s memory so glorious and true,

And I wait for the day that again I will see you.

Until that day,

This note I will keep with me for an infinity or two!
