A MUSICIANS SOUL
In youth I built tree cabins
And sometimes girls butts I'd be grabbin'
To the woods with my friends, off we'd go
Til mom yelled, "Time to practice piano."
Through the window I'd see them clown
Mom would look out at them with a frown
Their fingers played on the window sill
An imaginary piano invented by Bill
Mom would go and pull the curtain
Then it became extremely certain
By Junior High I'd play school dances
While smiling at my friends, their girls and their prances
For this we got cash
And almost in a flash
With the cash there was free beer
In no time I'd gone from there to here
Through marriages, children and grandchildren I'd play
Going on and on until I was gray
Colonoscopies and chemo haven't stopped my direction
I love my family and music without rejection
I'm sure I'll go on without strife
I've done this before in another life
I'll leave this Earth with one thing to say
"You know I'll be back again to play"
James Edward George
