Fondue me please!

There is a new way of eating these days and it’s called FONDUE!  A fun way to cook your own food in a great restaurant with family, friends, and your spouse.  The atmosphere is full of energy, life, and even though the restaurant may be lit dark there is a lot of light in these restaurants.  The waiters and waitress are smiling and friendly, always ready to answer any questions you may have and recommend their favorites to you if you also get stuck while looking at their delicious menus.  The food is delicious not the menus themselves of course. J

The menu is set up so that you can pick either a 3 course meal or a 4 course meal, both pricey but so well worth the money.  The 3 course meal consists of a delicious salad, your choice melted cheese with vegetables, bread, and apples, and a choice of your kind of oil you wish to cook your choice of meats and or seafood.  The cheese and the oils are put into a pot at your table, on an electric oven that is mounted into the table, and there the waiter/waitress will turn it on for your delectable appetizer and main course.  The meat and seafood that is brought to your table is cooked in the oil of your choice and also comes with 6 different dipping sauces, well on is a half a lemon you drip on your seafood if you want but it is still considered a dipping sauce.  If you decide on the 4 course you add a delicious desert with your choice of chocolate mixture you want melted at your table, which you are given cheesecake, brownie bites, strawberries, bananas, pound cake and marshmallows.

For your instruments, you can use your fork for your salad, but for the actual fondue you will want to use the nice long two pronged instrument so that you can reach deep into the pots with your food as well as to let it rest on the side of the pot when cooking your meat.

The Melting Pot is located in all but 13 states, which is great since I had never heard of them until I took a two day honeymoon with my husband on Maui back in 2008.  We were lucky enough to have gotten a hotel not far from The Melting Pot and on whim decided to have dinner there since it was an experience we had never had and wished to have fun and share a great dinner experience together.  I remember choosing the Chicken Cesar Salad, which was definitely the best I have ever had.  We chose the smoked Gouda and some other cheese that the waiter mixed together and the pot melted together which was DELICIOUS!  Then for the meat we chose a low fat oil for our cooking of our meat, oh and I forgot you can choose which meats and seafood bundle you want.  And the once that was all eaten, we had the Bailey’s Chocolate desert where they literally put a shot of Bailey’s liquor into the chocolate and mix the two together.  A great experience and a hell of a great dinner!

If you have never had the great experience of cooking your food fondue style, then I do recommend going to your nearest restaurant called The Melting Pot.  A fun exciting experience enjoyable for the entire family, a night out with just the guys or just the girls, or a romantic dinner between you and your loved spouse.

This review doesn’t give The Melting Pot 5 stars.  Oh no I would give them a billion, million, zillion stars.  My husband and I have already decided to take my parents there as well as his mom when she comes to visit from Ohio or when we go to visit her in Ohio, and our friends.  Yes again like I said it s a bit pricey but well worth EVERY dollar and cent towards the dinner.  You may now have to call for reservations but when we went we just walked in but I doubt it would be hard to get a reservation at the nearest Melting Pot restaurant unless it has become VERY popular, which I am sure it has by now, or am hoping it has by now.

Here is the website in case you are more interesting in learning about the place.

Enjoy and hope you all do have the chance to go to this place and enjoy the fun fondue dinner.
