Learn New Methods of Marketing Your Home Based Business

There is a "New Age of Network Marketing" emerging today. One that no longer requires bothering friends or family, making cold calls, buying expensive dead-end leads, home parties or three way calls to build a successful Home Based Business. Today's Network Marketing focuses on personal Lead Generation, Attraction Marketing, Social Networking and Positioning.

Leaders in Network Marketing and MLM realize that times are changing and the old methods used to market products and business opportunities are not as effective in today's technological, fast paced world. To truly build a long term, sustainable, Network Marketing Home Based Business, one that continues to grow and create residual income, you need to embrace these changes and offer them as a solution to your organization.

One of the biggest challenges in Network Marketing today revolves around figuring out how to keep people involved and successful for the long run. Most people have been exposed to Network Marketing in one manner or another and in many cases have been involved in more than one opportunity by the time they reach the age of 40. What is it that causes people to either quit or fail when trying to build a Home Based Business?

In a word, "Rejection", causes people to fail or quit before the paint even dries. It is human nature to dislike rejection, and when it comes in a large amount the fear and pain factor begins to make people doubt what they are doing. I relate this fear to dating in High School. Remember that first time you had a huge crush on a particular person and you mustered up the courage to ask that special someone out on a date? Kind of makes me flush just thinking about it. If it went anything like my first attempt, you can understand where the fear of rejection plays into it. After three or four times of telling her how wonderful it would be to go out with me, and finally getting the hint that the word "No" really means no, I gave up. Why did I give up? Rejection was not something I liked. Can you see the correlation to Network Marketing.

You just signed up with an incredible company that has the best product you have ever seen and you are all fired up to go out and tell the whole world. So you venture over to your best friends house and begin to share your new found product and opportunity, only to find out that they want nothing to do with it. So you trudge on and continue to share your exciting news with more friends, family and others that you know, only to experience more rejection. Next thing you know, the wind is out of your sails and you decide that maybe this product and company is just not for you and quit before you ever really got started. Sound familiar?

The example I shared above is one that I hear day in and day out. When you ask someone why they quit their Network Marketing business, the answer you hear more than any other is, "Well, I shared the product with my friends and family and nobody wanted to buy it." Or I hear this one a lot too, "I ran the opportunity by a couple people but they said it was just one of those pyramid things." Rejection is the biggest reason people fail or quit in their first 90 days with Network Marketing.

Hi glycodoc,

Thank you for the comment, and you are right, it is a whole new paradigm. The great thing about this shift is that it is fun, exciting and one that brings more success to those folks who have tried and failed with the old methods, me as one of them. Thanks again, Mike
