Why all of this hoopla around Eckhart Tolle's new book A New Earth? There is even relevant merchandise around the main point: EGO! So, is it Oprah's book club?

After reading the book and applying the points provided by Tolle, it is clear to see why all this attention has been given to not only A New Earth but to Eckhart Tolle himself. Chapter 1 has brought such a different view for me when looking at flowers and enlightenment. By the simple task of being alert and contemplating a flower, you can get an understanding of formless. It was amazing to read that all the ideas that Eckhart Tolle presents are just signposts moving you toward an awakening. Hopefully, you should have this shift take place within you.

Your shift should be in consciousness and, so to say, awaken. Eckhart Tolle is clear in stating that if this change of consciousness does not happen then the book will have no use. The first step would be to realize that you have an unconscious state which is your ego.
