A New and Posh Laundry Room

Laundry Room Makeover?
As laundry rooms are typical not very large in floor square footage, and what floor there might be is probably covered in the family's dirty clothes, think vertically. Any way you can get laundry room staples as detergent, bleach, stain remover and dryer sheets up off the floor and into a spot where you can reach them easily would be a plus.
Well OK. So maybe there is no way to truly make a laundry room luxurious. But if you are doing the laundry and spending the hours slaving away at the laundry, you wouldn't mind a little upgrade.

From Boring to a Stylish Laundry Room
My favorite is to add a hanging bar in the laundry room so that I can hang up my freshly dried clothes right out of the dry.
Every laundry needs a basket, hamper or rolling cart that can alternately hold soiled and clean items. The ones with a fabric lining are fabulous, because when they get dirty, you can just toss them in the wash. You can also get ones that have two and three compartments per container that will help you and your family sort out the laundry by color and load.
Add shelves up above that can hold a good amount of weight. This will help you organize all the clutter while keeping it off the floor. This will keep you from using the table, countertops and even the dryer from becoming clutter magnets and look far more organized.
To be even more versatile, try a tip from the garage - the pegboard, with hooks and flat-back baskets that allowed you to create a storage system for laundry supplies.
If your laundry room size will permit, having a fold down ironing board in the laundry room is very convenient for ironing out small wrinkle quickly and efficiently. If you do have this luxury, ensure that you will have an outlet available in which to plug in your iron.
If you prefer hiding your laundry storage, why not build a series of above-counter shelves? You can cover them with a curtain on a spring-rod as long as there are two vertical surfaces to support it. And because the fabric is easy to brush to the side, you will not have a difficult time accessing your supplies in a hurry.
If you have front-loading appliances, you can top them with a long, continuous countertop. It's the ideal place for folding clean clothes, and it will also prevent socks from falling down between the washer and dryer.
Paint your Laundry Room Walls!
Now that the functional items are out of the way, use bright and cheery colors to paint your laundry room. You do not want the color to over bearing, but it is worth sprucing up this little room that we spend a great deal of time in.
The laundry is also a nice place to add a wall mounted automatic air freshener so that you are not bombarded with the unpleasant smell of dirty laundry every time you wall in. Subconsciously, this little tip will make laundry a little easier to do because your brain is extremely sensitive to bad smells.
Now it's time to add some luxury to the rest of you home with this superb range of Area Rugs from House of Area Rugs; choose from bamboo rugs; cotton rugs; flokati rugs; in fact any type of rug you desire.
When you are all done, take a step back and enjoy this moment with your laundry room as one of the few times you actually enjoyed working in there.
