So you're all probably wondering why I'm writing a blog. Do I really need to give a big long explanation? No. I just want to because I like to blog, I like to write about politics and other topics in general (but mostly politics). I have another blog on Google, but I figured I should have one where I can have a fan club so we can all benefit from a decent civil discussion about important issues facing Americans today. That is what I feel is lacking in politics today: actual debate rather than the sound clip attacks we often hear of and are disgusted with.

Who am I?

I am a sophomore politics major (with as of next semester, a communications minor) at Messiah College near Harrisburg, PA. I got into politics around the time of the 2004 Bush-Kerry election. I'm a conservative, but a Christian first and foremost. I care deeply about my faith and my politics. I care deeply about my country and I care about my party (Republican), but I care for my country before party. I would consider myself a conservative, but that does not mean I always support every Republican politician. And I believe in reaching out to Democrats (some hard core Republicans will probably be calling for my execution tomorrow) and forming consensus in getting a conservative agenda passed.

Ronald Reagan is my political hero. You'll probably see a lot of his name in my blogs because I think he is not only one of America's greatest presidents, but also a shining example to modern conservative Republicans of how to acheive a conservative agenda and expand the base of the Republican Party.

I love elections. Indeed this time of the year is like the Super Bowl for me (in fact the real Super Bowl-- which I predict will be Packers-Patriots-- is at the same time, so 'm pretty stoked). Most of my blogs in the near future will probably be about the 2008 presidential election. I set out to make a prediction on who will win (which might very well be wrong-- a month is really a year in politics) the Republican and Democratic nominations.

I'm open for discussion. The KS train is starting. Come along for the ride!
