A Play-doh World
69Children notice everything. They step back to think about things, though we don't always see it. They know more than we think they do. I realized this the other day while playing play-doh with my daughter. She was mushing all the colors together and I asked her not to do that. She said, "Mommy, I like it when there is only one color, then me and Cheyenne don't fight over the colors".
This started a whole discussion on colors. I was trying to keep the colors separate and she was still being inistant on mixing them. I asked her what her favorite color was, hoping she would realize when she mixed them her favorite color would no longer be an option. She started naming them. Pink, orange, yellow, blue, green... I think she went through every color there was before she stopped. Then she looked at me and explained she liked them all. Then began to further explain that was another reason why she mixes them. I sat back and watched her. She mushed every color together until it was evenly one color.... brown. I asked her again, because I was still confused that she would want brown, "Julianne, why do you like that color?"
She said, some of my favorite people are this color. :) That made my heart proud to know that in a world like we live in with so much hate in diversity that she sees differences in people but still loves them. I smile when I think of this. I hope that one day we can all live in a "play-doh" world where all colors are loved and accepted and people enjoy them just as much all mushed together as they do independantly as separate colors.

Yes..childcare has been my way of work now for over 40 years...and I still am learning from them. They are our angels here on earth. We are to help teach them to get along and they tend to teach us to be child like once again and believe in everything.
We seem to loose that along the troubled way...of life..but to know all people are God's children is the only way to think..Nice hub my dear...very nice..Thanks. G-Ma :o) hugs
