A Poem From My Happier Days
48The Reality Of It All
The Dream
The stars were bright, it was a cool, clear night.
I could smell something sweet.
And I could feel something warm, and safe next to me.
I couldn't see your face.
But still, somehow, I knew I would be safe.
My heart was beating so....
We talked, we touched.
And my heartbeat grew faster.
Soft fingers traced the outline of every inch of my body.
A strange sound arose from within.
Into my throat, out of my lips.
And I felt safe.
My surroundings were strange, but the touch and smell were familiar.
And suddenly the sun was bright, the breeze was warm.
I could not see you but I could feel your presence.
Oh how I long for the night to come again.

Good guess Marcus. But it was my fiance at the time.
Very good poem! This must have been someone you was close too! Good creative poem writing!

What a lovely poem! If I had to guess I would say it was your blanket and pillow!
