A Poem I wrote in High School About Lost Love.

Tomorrow is Another Day
- "Tomorrow is another day," I said,
- As one more tear came steaming down my face.
- I doused the light and stumbled into bed,
- To satisfy my brain with empty space.
- Yet in that space an image did appear,
- And with it came the long and grueling tale,
- Of one who fought to save a love so dear,
- Yet fought too hard and came to no avail.
- A puppet to Desire's open stage,
- I played the fool in every act but one,
- And when the script was shortened to a page,
- I found my lover's fondness left undone.
- With nothing left to change and make things right,
- My love and hope dissolved into the night.

Thanks! The odd part is that when I wrote it, I had never had a boyfriend, just really big crushes. Looking back I realized how close to the surface feelings are when you are young. I see it now in my own teenagers.
Nice poem!
Not have boyfriend doesn't mean can't write about love, isn't it?
Best regards..
very nice poem
Yes, it is about love.
Some times we think we are doing everything right only to find out, we were doing everything wrong.
Glad you liked it.

That is a very nice poem. It can be neat to go back through your old writing.
I was at my moms house the other day and she had some of my stuff from elementary school, amongst them was a story that I had written. It provided some neat nostalgia, unfortunately, it did not hold up anywhere near as well as your poem did :)
