Aftermath of Tropical Storm Allison

This is a very special prayer of praise and thanksgiving I wrote during the aftermath of Tropical Storm Allison. My house was flooded with about five feet of water for three days. It was a terrible loss.

Heavenly Father,
There is such beauty in your forgiveness.
So many times when I have lost my way
And strayed into the path of sin, You
Looked on me in mercy and compassion…
And rescued me from the depths to which
My human frailties had brought me.
When I was devastated by the tragedies
Of life; and all hope was gone,
Your mercy picked me up and set me
On the right path again.
I find myself overwhelmed by the Greatness
Of your mercy and love for me.
You are the light of my life.
You bring light to the darkness and confusion
Of this world in which I live.
You have always been Faithful to me.
My hope is that when You come you will
Find me waiting for you with a garment
That is spotless and washed clean in the
Blood that you shed for me on Calvary!
The sacrifice you made for the World that
Day is something almost impossible to
Understand.
Father, teach me the way of holiness
That I might walk forever in your sight!
Light of the World, be with me forever….
For You alone, are worthy of Praise.

This prayer nicely shows your faith in your Savior.

These sorts of difficult events should remind us all what Jesus said in Luke chapter 14, verse 15 “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” We then read from verse 32 “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Smireles, because of your rich faith in Him, you are certain to be blessed.
