A Psalm of Joy

O Lord, hear my cry,

Take hold of my hand.

Guide my through the wilderness

For my eyes are blind in the darkness.

Shield my heart and guard my mouth,

From my enemies

Who try to crush me.

I stand in your shadow and I have no fear

For you stand before me.

You protect me, restore and replenish my soul

Your words are etched on my heart

They are the blood in my veins

They are the sweet melody of the songbird

That wakes with the morning light

My enemies will treble and cry out for mercy

For they fear the power of the all mighty God

Who shall speak against the Lord my God?

My enemies will run and hide in the night for

they fear the light of truth.

Lord bless me with compassion and forgiveness

to love them.

Give me the words to encourage them

Let me honor you

by living your decree

Let no man separate me from the love of the almighty God

I will love them as you have loved me

As you have forgiven me

I fall to my knees in awe of you

I humbly weep tears of joy for the Lord God has rescued me

With his unfailing love.

I sing with the songbird sweet songs of praise.
