Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and campground was opened over 3 decades ago in 1971 and has been providing guests with a chance to "rough it in stlyle" ever since. Fort Wilderness consists of over 750 acres of cypress , pine woods, and lush greenery. It is centrally located with in Disney World and allows for easy access to all the Theme Parks, so your sure to never miss a beat. Fort Wilderness was just recently renovated in 2009 and now boast a pool offering a hot tub, water slide, and kiddie splash n play pool area. This is just one of the many great amentities Disney Worlds campground has to offer. Take a ride across Bay Lake in Fort Wilderness by ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom or just sit on the dock and catch the night time fireworks show! Whatever you'r choice Fort Wilderness is sure to WOW!
Activities For The Whole Family- Yee Haw!
Disneys' Fort Wilderness takes the unexpected to new heights in all that it has to offer. Family members of all ages can enjoy the vast amount of activities performed each and every day. With it's newly renovated pool Fort Wilderness now offers a twisting splish splashin old time country water slide. Just recently renovated in 2009, the pool also offers an area with splash and play amentities and double waterslides for the little ones, a hot tub, kiddie pool, and a playground . And if you'r in the mood to move shimmy you'r way down to the tennis courts or play a game of volley ball located at the meadow swimming pool. Here you can also find activities going on during the day like arts and crafts, bingo, pool parties, and all types of other sort of games for the kids! While you are there make sure not to miss the Chip N Dale campfire sing-a-along (7:30pm every night). Its a marshmellow roastin toastin good time with those nutty pals Chip N Dale. Also, hang around when the shows over for the nightly classic Disney movie presented under the stars (8:40pm every night). It's sure to be a blast! And don't forget you'r camera because you can never be sure just who might show up. Yee-Haw!
Located in Fort Wilderness is Bay Lake which offers tons of activities for the whole family. Plan to soak up the sun at the beach or spend some time on the lake with a pontoon boat, canopy boat, or Mercury watermouse offered by the Marina/Beach water craft rentals. And if it's fishin you fancy hook up a fun filled fishing trip for the whole family while you'r their (although Bay Lake is catch and release only its still sure to be a blast!). After you'r done make you'r way over to to Davy Crockett's Wilderness arcade at Pioneer Hall or catch a pony ride at the stables located behind Crockets Tavern . If its just plain relaxation that you seek take an old fashioned horse-drawn carriage or wagon ride through the resort.
The Disney Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground also offers bikes, canoes and golf cart rentals. The bike and canoe rentals are located at the bike barn behind the meadows swimmin pool and directly across from the Meadows Trading Post. The golf cart rentals are located at the outpost at the entrance to Fort Wilderness but make sure to book in advance as they are very popular and there is a limited amount.
Superb Dining & Lively Entertainment In The Great Outdoors
Staying at Fort Wilderness means never being hungry. There are several places to dine within the campground resort thats a sure fire, rootin, tootin blast for the whole family!
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
This all you can eat buffet featuiring American cuisine is sure to please any member of the family, young or old. So dig in but remeber, when you'r done, to whoop it up as the rip-roarin' down -home western vaudeville style show hamms it up. The Pioneer Hall Players will have you singin, clappin and foot stompin all night long! If you'r lucky they might even make you one of their own! You'r guarenteed to have some Frontier family fun as you dine and enjoy a whole stampede of barn-raisin entertainers here at the Hoop-Dee-Doo. Yeee-Haw!

Mickeys' BackYard B-B-Q
If you are interested in character Dining try Mickeys' BackYard BBQ located right inside Fort Wildernees at the Wilderness Pavalion down at the Settlement! Its a hoot n' hollarin character wild dining BBQ experience you won't forget any time soon! You might even get to do a little foot stompin and country dancin too! Mickeys Back Yard BBQ features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip n Dale and many other special performing guests. While you are their enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet featuring hotdogs, hamburgers, BBQ pork, baked chicken, tons of sides and whole lot of trimmins! (Tuesday & Saturdays, Open to all WDW resort guests)
Trail's End Restaurant
If you enjoy American down-home cooking then kick back and relax at the Trail's End Restauraunt. This all -you-can-eat bufffet is simple and satisfying. It offers a bountiful breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring American past time favorites like fried chicken with all the trimmins, hand carved roast beef, biscuits and gravy, pizza and much more. Come dig into the heartiest eatin in the wilderness while you enjoy the old time atmosphere. (Open daily Monday-Sunday)
Crockett's Tavern
Davey, Davey crockett king of the Wild Frontier! If its snacks you'r lookin for, or just a drink to soothe the soul then hop on down to Crockett's Tavern. They offer appetizers, dine-in pizza, and the best cocktails around! (Open daily Monday-Sunday)
Disney's Fort Wilderness Cabins & Campsites
Whether you choose a resort cabin, bring a motor home, or pitch a tent you'r sure to enjoy the comforts of home. For those of you who want all the ammenties of home there are 409 Wilderness Cabins that offer a quant, rustic escape in surroundings reminescent of the old time free standing pioneer log homes and nestled amongst the 750 acres of forest. They offer a quaint, rustic escape. Special country touches include vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a private deck, eat -in kitchen and more. Each cabin sleeps up to 6 people and is perfect for small or large parties. Each Wilderness cabin has 1 bedroom unit with one double bed and two bunkbeds and a pull down sopha located in the sitting area. The cabins also boast a fully equiped eat-in kitchen and dining table, air conditioning, full bathroom, color cable televisions, and daily house keeping services.
For those of you who decide to "rough it in style" there are 784 campsites ranging in length from 25' to 65' to accommodate tents, motor homes, trailers and other recreational vehicles that allow up to 10 guests. Each site has a elongated leveled paved cement pad, a charcoal grill, picknic table, full hook up site accomadiations for water, electric and sewage and offer cable and internet connections. Right next door and located through out the campground, you will find elegant and picturesque private bathrooms and showers, ice machines, full laundry facilities and telephones.
Note-Pets are very welcomed at all sites. Also, available is the kennel located right at the front of Fort Wildernees at the Outpost.
