A Shout Out for our Soldier's

Well I have been keeping a close eye on what's been happening in Afghanistan, and whats not been happening. I seen some courageous congressman stand up and raise important questions regarding an exit strategy, and I saw the higher political persons smash all hope of having an ending to this war any time soon. It's interesting to see the poll's that have been taken, just seems like a lot of voices are falling at deaf ears. So this is the reason behind this hub I write tonight.

Since it appears our government is letting our Troops down, We gotta step up to the plate now and dam it the hell and support these brave men and women. There's absolutely no excuse for not being able to do one good deed for these heroes. I run a project called Operation Stand By Me, I receive many of letter's. Some express the need for certain items, some expressing concerns for what's going on here back at home, some are from the family members just wanting to be reminded we have not forgotten their child or spouse is fighting and dying over-sea's. I have also gotten letters from soldier's getting ready to deploy for the first time. In every letter that I got, it was very easy to help for the most part. To be quite honest, it's the small things that mean the most to a soldier or a family member of a loved one serving.

The biggest shout out that has been coming across the line is that with the troop serge in Afghanistan, the wounded are coming in at a much higher rate than in the past. Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), the largest American hospital outside the United States, is where the majority of our wounded soldiers are directly transferred to from the field while serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Sadly they don't have enough card's, letter's and homemade goodies to go around. To be quite frank, the doctors, nurse's and medic's sure could use some thank you card's too. Their job's are more than stressful and because of them of our wounded has a chance to live. They give the gift of life, they deserve a lot of credit. So this is what they need - This is what they requested in a "Shout-Out".

We need to start getting care package's sent out to our troops. Basic item's can make a huge difference to a soldier. Not to mention the moral boost they get every time their name is called at mail call. Look, everybody needs a buddy they can depend on, well they need a buddy too. I read one posting where a woman wrote her son had said, "that over half of the service people NEVER received a letter or a package from home while serving in Iraq. He said that many service people were from dysfunctional homes and they join the service seeking some place to belong.

You can ship a care package over sea's for $11.95 regardless how heavy that box is. Not sure what to send, take a look at the cheat sheet

Will You Show Heart ?

I hope you found the information and video's helpful, perhaps now that you see it is really easy to do a good deed for a soldier you'll be more excited about helping out. Please share this information with your friends and families. It is our Freedom that they are fighting for, it's only right that we support them. They ask for simple things and they ask for us to make sure their families are okay and supported too. A lot of these brave soldier's are young adults who has never been away from the security of our home lands and their families, and getting letter's and packages from home our vital for their moral.

Great Job AIF Am posting this link to www.Hammerjammeru.com

Hooah! Just so folks know, when troops arrive at Landsthule all they have is the blanket or gown the field hospital sent them in. They are desperate when they arrive there for the basics and all appreciate the help and support we give them.

Thank you HammerJammer for offering to post this link. The more people who read's it, hopefully the more people will step up to take action and help a Soldier out. How scarry it must be for these brave men and women to be hurt, away from home and have nothing to have as their own for comfort. They gave what most are'nt willing to give,..It's just way past time for us to give something back in return. I only wish I had the means to send everyone of them just a little something. I also want to comend you for the wonderful work you do and I really enjoyed your articals at Hammerjammeru.com I will be sure to pass your link on as well. HOOAH !!!
