A Water Moment

Water sustains all life.

Water washes the mind.

We crave the passion.

Water submerges our want.

Water polishes our surface.

Eat, drink and breathe your purpose for it is water.  It is there in your food, beverage and the air you breath.  It is there in the morning to welcome you back to the world of the working.  Water is there to bring out the green of your planet and it is there to drip down your window on a dark day.  Water is there in the sweat on your brow, and it is there in your tears of sorrow.

Water is there on the shoreline. We visit from our busy lives. We travel on a pilgrimage to the source of our souls. We get out of our vehicles and walk toward the waves as they crash and beckoning us – luring us back to the origins of our primitive self.

Breathing changes and we connect with our modern day exhaustion. Oxygenated air, rumbling sounds interspersed with sea bird calls, salty smells and the taste on our lips, wind against our skin and the ever-changing waves – all our senses react simultaneously as our minds are gently overwhelmed into a peace.

The beast within goes to sleep and the mental chattering ends as we catch light sparkles in the sand - billions of water stars twinkling within this water blessing.

The experience of water – the water moment happens without even getting wet. Yet we have produced in our man-made resorts and leisure centers, our own water creations.

The aches and pains of modern day life are washed away in the hot bubbling tubs of water. A desire grows to an addict’s craving and takes over as the days pass before one can finally submerged the body - helping it to find its solace. Stress dissolves into the bubbles, while the mind follows a path of least resistance. The sense of touch is overwhelmed while the sense of sound is overcome by the frizzing of bubbles breaking the surface. The three other senses go on holiday releasing some of the brain’s functions thereby allowing dreams to come forward.

The energy starts to flow again overcoming the blockages of life.

Water is crucial to our lives and we have come through billions of years of changes – from the primordial soup to Jacuzzi. Water shrouds 71% of the Earth’s surface. Water is through out the planet not only in the ponds, lakes, rivers and oceans, but below the ground in aquifers as well as in the air in the form of vapor. Solid and liquid water particles are suspended in the air to form our clouds. Water is found in glaciers and the polar caps as well as in biological bodies. The human body is about 60% water in adult males and 55% in adult females.

We take water for granted, but take a water moment every now and then and connect.

It is difficult in our technological days and hurried lives and for that reason – a water moment interactive site has been created. Please give it a go and let me know.

Hey, reggieTull, magnificent pictures and writing!  I really wanted to be there.  Did you also know that moving water produces negative ions, which are healthy for us, relieve stress, reduce bodily acidity?  Yes, I wanted to jump in your pictures! Now!

Joke:  There was a redneck student who kept missing science class and when the Prof checked on him, said student was standing in the bathroom flushing the toilet.  Constantly!  When Prof asked why...student replied, "I wanted to feel the negative ions"!  Duh. This is my short dud version, bet you could make it better!  :-)

Water has also inspired me tremendously. I recently moved from the desert to the west coast to live next to the ocean. I gave up much of my "stuff" and "space" to live here and it is so worth it. Water is always changing just like us. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you OptimistsOnly - I appreciate your comment and sharing your experience. I now live in the high desert - with many trips to the coast in a year. I can just go so long and then need to connect to the ocean. In the meantime, I go to the pool weekly. :) Thanks again

Every once in a while, I feel a pressing need to go and stand by a large body of water. There is something about it, how the light reflects off of it, the movement...water is so much more than the most necessary ingredient of life, it's draw, for some of us, is almost sacred.

Thank you gusripper and Dolores for your comments - I think the fact gus highlights explains the connection that Dolores shares. Dolores, like yourself, I need to return to the source of my self. I have that uncanny craving at times and amazing quiet experiences while there on the edge of the ocean. Thanks again for sharing to all.
