A World Gone Insane?
66In view of all the "events".....
Happening in the world today, I have come to the unlikely conclusion that the world has or at least in thie portion of it gone mad; or is definitely starting to...
What I am about to tell you may at first seem really funny for a change, but this actually happened. I am glad "it wasn't me" !

I am wondering, how many people....
take out their trash on a bi-weekly, daily, some hoarders do not take it out at all I have discovered. We all pay for trash disposal....All of us....
And the trash people come and take it away, filling our landfills to overcapacity because there are so many people on this earth creating trash of one kind or another...We throw away so many different things, from paper, plastic, furniture, washing machines and glibly leave them by the side of the road for the gangly "dumpster trucks" to come once or twice a week to haul our trash away....the junk man rolls down the street with his trailer and picks up the furniture, washing machines, air conditioners or whatever else we are trying to dispose of.....
Some of us have in the recent years learned to recycle their trash...hoorah for this endevour....And I am not being saracastic here....I am one of those recyclers, who believe that even trash must be put in it's proper place.....I have been separating my trash for years-only now I live in the country and just burn all the paper and set the cans, bottles, and plactic out for the recycling truck....
But some of us have gone even beyond that....they have become so adept at NOT creating garbage it is unreal....here is one man's story and when I read this, I decided the world had gone mad....
A bicycle shop owner decided to make full use of everything and not create any trash at all to be picked up and hauled off...He was very ingenious in my mind as he stores old cartons for reuse, and sells all of his unusable parts, pedals, handles, etc....for scrap.....But this did evidently did not satisfy the trash people when there was not trash bit one to pick up or put in the containers offered for use in getting rid of trash by the city he lived in .....
He was actually FINED $100.00 FOR NOT CREATING TRASH TO HAUL AWAY!!! Now this is just totally inconceivable to me as it would seem that any cititzen who was just not creating trash would be given an award by a city for being the cleanest shop owner in town....Or the greenest, however you want to put it....
Worse than this, if he doesn't pay the fine in ten days, the fine will be raised to $300.00.....Additionally if the fine is not paid again, he will be hauled to court.....
When I first read the headline on this article, I did laugh because I find it incredulous...but reading the entire thing...I simply decided that society is stretching pretty far to make a buck if they want to fine people for not creating trash...Personally, I think he should be given a medal.....No trash??
Should be no problem.....Seems impossible, but some people are able to come up with really good ideas to stop filling the landfills.....gee, how much trash did you throw away this week?? Well, you know you won't be fined at any rate.....
In addition to this, they will be fining people for putting your wheelie bin out on the wrong day and giving vouchers to those people who put their bin in the correct place on the correct day....
Are you able to understand why I think there is insanity afoot???

I concur sciantel, Good hub healthmadewealthy. Glad I live in Ga not UK.
It's those little pesky city ordinances that get you. I have been trying to throw away a trash can for two months. It's crunched up, and I put it out every week, and every week I find it sitting there. Nice Hub.
Hi Wealt, You are darling. This is a right onhub. Very well written. I relly enjoyed it. Your title grabbed me. Yes the'worl' is going mad. The good news is teh Lord can fix it. One must be willing to believe in something larger then himself. My moma told me once 'there is a God and it is not you' That put me in my shoes that day. Thank you for visiting my hubs. I am truly grateful I look forward to your professional opinion. Question? You mentioned article writing. I need to earn some $$ fast do you know where or how? Writing. We are not looking so good. Hubby lost job. You know I am ok. I trust the Lord he loves me, you. He will cover us. Please get to me when you can. Love Ya.
The world has gone mad. Or has it always been mad? This is a fine Hub regardless. Thank you for the information.
It's a crazy world - no doubt about that!
We should all be much more aware of what can be done to reduce the incredible levels of waste we produce. the slogan "Reduce, re-use, re-cycle" is a key to our more healthy future.
Thanks for the great Hub.
Love and peace
Tony
Wealthmadehealthy,
You have really given us something to think about! I agree with James "the world has gone mad!"
Blessings!
It is true, the lunatics really have taken over the asylum! A guy here in the UK who recycled everything possible was given a huge fine for accidently not having it segregated properly, his mistake was to leave something with his name on it in the wrong box. We rip off our names and addresses from everything we recycle and burn that little bit after hearing that story, that way we cannot be blamed if some passer by puts their rubbish in our recycling box and our names are on something else. Can you imagine punishing someone for recycling?

I at least recycle. More people should do this. It helps the environment so much.
