English tv is now dominated by "reality programs" from masterchef to "dancing on ice" which is a very cheap way to make programs as they are financed by viewers phone calls, the BBC still makes programs that are worth watching but less and less.

Spanish tv is the normal mixture of soaps and sport, with bullfighting almost as popular as football and not as violent, like the french they have a much more relaxed attitude to sex. The news in Spain is sometimes a bit graphic, they will show the bloody remains of explosions or traffic accidents, where british tv considers its viewers are to sensitive and need to be protected from the "horrible" truth.

Well, I guess Portuguese television can be described as a mixture of those two: reality shows + soaps + sport (with football being the star) :D
