I live in the Southern California area. A few years ago a local radio station held a contest and the challenge was who ever could drink the most water would win a prize. A person called in warning the Disk Jockys that it was dangerous; the disk jockeys made fun of the caller. Before the day was over someone perticipating in the contest had died of a thing called "Water Intoxication." We all know that water is good for us, however, it seems that too much water too fast, just like anything else, can be bad for us. Please see the following link.

Too much water at one time is the same as drowning in a lake of water. The body can't cycle it through the body fast enough so then it collects in the lungs and you drown.

well sandra, that's not quite how it happens. It has more to do with throughing our bodies out off with the electrolites. The Wikipedia link explains it all.
