A life of Purpose - writing for hubpages

Let your light shine

Could it possibly be - that hubpages is the answer to all our searching for life's meaning? Do we not all have burning passions about which we could write and share with the world? "But who," you might ask "would want to hear my tip for removing scrambled egg from the base of a saucepan and who would want to use my Aunt Bessie's receipe for lemon drizzle cake?" The answer is; I would, and many others like me.

We all have passions - these passions become our areas of expertise, we read about them, participate in them and dream about them - now, why not write about them? Your not writing about that hobby, attitude or tip could be depriving many people of the opportunity to learn and gain insight. When you write, you are serving others and nurturing your own soul.

It amazes me when I observe my husband happily sitting at the kitchen table, making his scale model aircraft and tanks. He sits there, beneath the lampshade, with his little tools, blades, superglue, tweezers for hours on end, patiently cutting and applying with precision and patience. The final product, though beautiful and creative, serves no particular purpose in the world but the joy and satisfaction it gives him and the awe and respect it inspires in others. He shares his knowledge and gifts on specialised forums and club newsletters to a very grateful audience. I could not do that. It's not my passion.

My friend Kathleen bakes the most wonderful cakes. While her career in a pressurized hospital environment occasionally depletes her energy-levels, when she is in her kitchen she is a thoroughbred domestic goddess. The cakes not only taste great, they look great - decorated with the same attention an architect might give the drawings of a palace. Kathleen has ordered some exquisite boxes online and intends to sell her cupcakes at local shops and markets. I could not do that. It's not my passion.

I love communicating. Words come easy to me. I love writing. I can do that. It's my passion.

We live in a world that is exploding with diversity, imagination, creativity and energy. Just like you are the only person alive with your fingerprints, you are the only person alive with your own unique view of life and combination of talents because only you know what you know and have lived what you've lived. So enrichen our lives by sharing it.

As Marianne Williamson wrote;

... as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others".

So love your take on the world and share it - the world is a much more interesting place with you in it.

Hi again! I love the hub, but agree with Jackson Riddle, who is that... a rock star? It'll come to me, anyway you should elaborate on it, keep it going girlfriend, share more of your awesomeness.

This is encouraging...especially the williamson quote at the end. I'm trying to find my purpose while enjoying every moment...sometimes I forget what it's all about, what's important, until I read stuff like this. thanks.
