A tribute to great commenters

HubPages is a pure and unadulterated joy to be a part of. I love writing Hubs and I hope people can enjoy them and learn from them as much as I can those of others.
No matter how much I work on a Hub, though, my efforts seem more validated by the comments I receive from other Hubbers and random readers. It's wonderful knowing that there are people who are interested in what I have to say, whether their reactions are negative or positive. To me, they're all beneficial (even the ones like "you suck" and such).
What I really am willing to give a toast to are those who leave epic comments, who really are passionate about something and wish to respond in depth. You can tell they have read at least the majority, if not all, of what I have written, and are willing to take the time to put in their own two cents for what I feel is on my behalf as well as those of readers. Those comments are basically a part of my Hub, and often add details that I didn't know or think of myself. They save me time and they also help make my own Hub more interesting and complete. For that, I thank them.
There are also the serial commenters who apparently keep close tabs on my Hubs and reply to many of them frequently. It makes me feel like my writing is worth reading, and they encourage me to continue creating Hubs, no matter how ridiculous the topic seems.
I hope everyone on HubPages takes the time to comment on a Hub they read, whether they like it or not. Comments give writers a chance to improve their ability to create a good Hub, and this can carry on to other spots on the Internet and elsewhere. Feedback is what Hubbers crave, and often it is a simple gift to give. Every time I receive an e-mail alerting me to a new Hub comment, I am delighted and thankful. Sometimes I'm praised, sometimes I'm criticized, but the only times I ever delete a comment are when someone accidentally submitted their response twice.

This morning I moderated a mean-spirited comment that basically was about five paragraphs long telling me how she would have written my article better so it would suit her needs. I have to wonder, if you are...

I think we can all agree with you on this--It's validating to get comments & know there are people out there reading your work. I try to always comment on Hubs that I read because I would want the same amount of input on mine.
I feel the same way, feedback is great. Many times it gives back more information than I gave out and answers questions I had while writing. As a whole, Hubpages is a great place for aspiring writers to start. I'm a business guy by trade but I can lose myself in writing for hours if I'm not careful and this is my favorite place to do it.
It's good to leave a comment and let the person know that you appreciate their hub. Leaving comments on hubs and in the forum has lead to some very good friendships that I otherwise wouldn't have made. I have also become fans through people who leave comments and want to learn more about them. There are many benefits to leaving a comment. As usual glassvisage great hub. I love how your personality always shines through your writing.
Thanks for the comments, guys! (Haha) I'm glad we're all on the same page, and that we can give feedback freely!
Yeah, comments are a big part of creating hubs or blogging. It makes for a discussion which is a lot better than a lecture, imo.

I concur! I wish I had the time to write hubs as frequently as you do, if only to get information to the people. Good job and keep up the good hubbing!
