Adengage will catch you with your pants down.

Adengage: Use "trick click" to make money.

Adengage is a pay-per-click advertising network, owned and managed by Andrew John Marston. The basic premise is that publishers create ads using a creation tool provided by Andengage.com. The resulting code is then placed on mostly porn sites in the hopes that a user will click on the ads. These clicks take the user to third party websites owned by Adengage advertisers. The system works quite well for the publishers. The problem comes in when you examine the quality of the traffic provided by Adengage.

Traffic quality is measured by how many people that click your ads actually purchase the product or service offered by the advertiser. Adengage traffic quality is notoriously low because as a matter of policy, their system is wrought with publishers that use deceptive methods to acquire ad clicks.

Here is a review of the Adengage Ad Delevery program written by a forum member on 07/27/2007.

“Adengage:

Pros: I have gotten checks from them so they aren’t scammers. Ads can be completely customized (great for those who like to blend or trick click).

Cons: Most of the websites in their inventory (if you want to be and advertiser) are complete crap quality (ex. Lots of game websites from Turkey that look like a 5 year old kid designed them). As a publisher, it gets even worse. The ads are nothing short of idiotic (ex. Dog owners forum, win something offers). I would highly recommend you stay away if you want returning visitors.”

Can you spot the "trick Click" ad?

The trick click that this user is referring to is using an unrelated image embedded into the Adengage script that causes the user to think they are going to a site related to the image.

Can you spot the Adengage ad in the image to the right? Here is a hint: Dog owners love tight shorts.

Now, if you were the advertiser that was buying click traffic from Adengage, would you be happy with the traffic coming form this ad? Do you think it would benefit your business to get ass traffic to a dog owner discussion forum?

Here is the kicker:

Not only does Adengage allow this activity, but they consider it to be "ingrained in their way of doing business." This is a direct quote from their office…

A nice ass will sell anything...

Trick Clickery and the Adengage Service

At the right you will see two more examples of Adengage publishers using what many would consider deceptive techniques to trick users to click on ads.

Can you find the Adengage ads on these images?

Hints:

Canadian stock traders love tight buns.

You don’t need a straight cue when you have a round bum.

Be careful when playing you might get rump humped.

These ads are all from one of the top publishers on the Adengage network. Would you like to know exactly how many tricked clicks the ads on the right produce each month? Take a look at these stats taken directly from Adengage:

Ad clicks per week: 14,592

This publisher’s stats also state that they have 52% US traffic. According to Adengage, advertisers can spend as much as $0.066 per click. This means that tricky clicks from this publisher alone account for $963.07 in advertiser money each week. Multiply that number by the fact that this publisher has been doing this since October 2006 and it becomes very clear that advertisers have spent approximately $17,335.30 in what could be observed as worthless clicks.

Click fraud hurts everyone!

The Adengage trick clicks abound!

I have examined 10 of the top producing sites in the Adengage network and found that of those 90% are engaging in what I would consider deceptive click baiting and I believe that Adengage is not only aware, but provides the tools and technology responsible for the deception.

Here is a list of the sites that I found using the “trick click” techniques:

http://www.sexycoolwink.com/ 14,592 tricked clicks per month

http://www.bigupload.com/ 8,883 tricked click per month

http://www.bootyarcade.com/ 8,732 tricked clicks per month

http://www.machovideo.com/ 8,445 tricked clicks per month

http://www.afunnysite.com/ 5,233 tricked click per month

http://www.hollyrude.com/ 4,181 tricked clicks per month

http://www.timekiller.com/ 1,895 tricked clicks per month

http://www.menspulse.com/ 1,285 tricked clicks per month

http://www.relaxandenjoy.org/ 1,231 tricked click per month

Total users tricked into clicking ads by Adengage publishers each month: 54,477 (from only looking at 10 sites!)

Total amount of advertising dollars lost to trick clicks: WHO KNOWS?!?!?!

The best (or rather WORST) for last…

The most offensive Adengage publisher is a man named Stefan Debrackeleer. Mr. Debrackeleer is from Belgium and operates several websites. The most offensive to Adengage advertisers is http://www.sexyworldbabes(NSFW)com. Below is a screen capture from his website. Note: this image has only been edited to maintain the integrity of this site.

In the image below, there are no fewer than 7 Adengage Ads hidden in the pornographic images. On the original website there are 29 similar ads, all from Adengage.

Logically, does this seem like a good way to produce traffic for advertisers?

The worlds WORST Adengage Cheater.
