ALL GAVE SOME...SOME GAVE ALL POW MIA
60The Official POW MIA DAY Poster for 2009, from the Defense Department.
HONOR THEIR SERVICE, FULFILL THEIR TRUST
This is a tribute to military families. The inspiration here is mostly derived from the incredible strength of the wives and mothers of our American soldiers who have fought for our freedom. I saw a bumper sticker today that said "My Boy is Fighting for Your Honor Student's Freedom." I see bumper stickers all over town with the logo for the prisoners of war who are missing in action. But how many of us actually realize the love that was put into the creation of that logo for the flag that represents the losses suffered by so many families in wartime?
I recently learned that the POW MIA flag was commissioned and designed by mothers and daughters
of POW MIA's. It is one of the most important and recognized flags in the
world, yet most Americans don't know the story, as how and why it was
created. I don't know how it could be that this is so unknown! And it is hard to believe that more people don't know that it was women who created and commissioned that flag on behalf of all Americans, as most people know that Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag!
-Incredible women, housewives, stood toe to toe with world leaders, petitioned the UN, and created History.
-For more information, you can see a website that talks about the history of the flag by clicking here.
-There is a new book just came out about these incredible
women.....The National League of Families still fights for the return of
all POW MIA's today, recently Scott Speicher, ("Michael Scott Speicher (July 12, 1957– January 17, 1991) was a United States Navy pilot who was shot down during the Gulf War. He was the first American combat casualty of the conflict, although his death was not confirmed until August 2, 2009..." taken from wikipedia)
-Ask folks to spread the word that September 18th is POW MIA Day.
Last year there was not one newspaper article nor television airing that mentioned or recognized our POW MIA's on that day. It was the day after the economy crashed, and nobody cared. They truly forgot about the families looking so desperately for our men. Folks need to call their local media, forward the poster to as many folks as possible, so that this year we don't forget!

Thanks for reading!
Thank you; I bookmarked this one.
Thanks for stopping by!
Good job! There is another website I found while searching for a site to expose a fake soldier with a listing of the Vietnam POW's and MIA's. It is: http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies1090.htm My former partner is now listed there as the faker that he is! We must rid the world of the ones stealing the valor of our military heroes! Thanks, again, for recognizing the real heroes. My heart goes out to each one fighting for the USA. May God Bless each and everyone.
