Every year J&K shrine board organises the holy amarnath yatra in j&k. Lakhs of devotees come in amarnath & see the natural ice lingam of lord shiv. There are two pigons there what is belief that they have heard 'THE AMAR KATHA' from lord shiv & they are AMAR.

It's a very holy yatra for hindus & every devotee want to perform this yatra once in a life.But it's not as easy to go to amarnath yatra as it sounds. The devotee who can put their life on hands can perform the yatra. reasons are;-

1- Amarnath yatra is always a soft target for the terrorist there in kashmir.

2- The weather is always a prime concern. Snowfall or rain or even storm can come anytime & can take the lives.

But the security in amarnath yatra is optimum & the army always helpful for the piligrimes so it's not a much concern.

There is some do's and DON'T Do in amarnath yatra.

DO'S

1- Start morning or evening walk atleast 5 kms. a day before going for yatra atleast a fortnight ago. It helps you to be physically & mentally fit for yatra.

2- Choose your shoes for mountain trekking.

3-Keep a slip in your pocket of your name,address & phone number.

4-Keep forward slow. Don't encourage yourself much.

5- Keep some cocolates, toffees, neccessary medicines and gulcose in your bag as it would be very helpful.

6-Keep comfortable clothes for treking and add winchiter for the rain.

7- Be helpful to others & be prepare to have food in Langer.Also keep in mind that without ARMY & LANGERS yatra is impossible.

8- If you wanna go with helicopters book it atleast 15 days before.

Don't

1-Don't take drugs,wine or smoke in yatra

2- If you are coming there from a long way & especially coming by road jammu to srinager never told anybody stranger except the taxi or bus drivers or auro runner that you are going to Anarnath.

2-Don't use slippers.

3-Don't stop dangerous places marked.

4- Don't be panic walk slow and say 'OM NAMAY SHIVAY'
