Kseniya Simonova depicts the invasion of Ukraine by the Germans, where one out of four people died in the battle. This killing approximately ten million of the forty million that lived in the Ukraine at the time.
She start with a scene of a young couple sitting on a bench, when the war starts with war planes flying over head. She quickly changes the scene with the face of a crying women, and adds a baby, where the woman's faces is transformed in to a smiling face. As the lady soon becomes an elderly lady, with a face worn of hardship, as just a quick the picture is change to depict a monument to an unknown solder.
Finally the picture is changes to a window frame, with a young lady looking out the window to, at first the monument, when the scene is changed to a mother and baby looking out the window, saying good-bye to the apparent father-husband who is standing outside of the windows, apparently leaving for the war.
The artist does a great job in story telling with her drawing. Also, her drawing skill were remarkable at bringing the picture to life. She was truly amazing.

Eovery, that was great. It does take a lot out of people to live in a country that is constantly being bombarded by outside forces - first Germany and now Russia. Russia would like the Ukraine back. Their revanchist efforts include trying to terrorize the Ukranians with threats of turning off their oil. This crooked regeme in Russia now is deceaving and Obama has fallen for them big time. He has just about given Russia Poland, but not doing the missiles right in Poland which if they were attacked would require a USA response. The Poles are very sad. It sent the wrong message to all of those former East European people, including those of the Ukraine. Who can trust Putin?
