Howdy y'all; Whats up; Hope YOU are GOOD! Today I am gonna write about the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Food and Drink Scene. One could assume because Amsterdam has Coffeeshops that sell Cannabis/Hash that these places ALL have FOOD and DRINKS of restaurant or "Munchie" quality. However, that is not the case for MOST Coffeeshops. MOST Coffeeshops do serve some sort of drink selection for you to quench your cotton-mouth or sip your morning coffee, but WHERE's the FOOD? OK, first some Coffeeshops are just fly-and-buy type places so you wouldn't expect much from them; but what about bigger Coffeeshops with seating and space? Well, MOST again DO NOT serve a HUGE menu of food. A lot of Coffeeshops have a few simple items to crave your thirst and hunger. Typically, after your selection of drinks; coffee, tea, soda, juice, there are a few food items for purchase as well. They range from candy, toasties(grilled sandwiches), cakes, and/or fruit. However, Barney's Coffeeshop has a restaurant(GREAT Breakfast bar), Grasshopper does too, a few others and today's review, GreenHouse Coffeeshop.

  Now, GreenHouse Coffeeshop was the 2008 winner in the Cannabis Cup with their herb winner being "Super Lemon Haze" and during that time I noticed how GREAT their food menu was getting, in comparison to other Coffeeshops. WOW! For instance here is their menu(late 2008 menu). For Breakfast/Lunch which is served 9am to 6pm, they have available: Full English Breakfast, Scrambled Eggs, Veggie Omelette, Chicken Caesar Salad, GreenHouse Prawn Salad, GoatCheese Salad, Soup of the Day, Houmous, Fiesta Nachos, Cajun Chicken Wings, Spicy Potato Bravas, Garlic Bread, Bread & Aioli, Beef-Stir Fry, Indian Butter Chicken, Panini Porta, Panini Tonno, Panini Pesto, BLT Club Sandwich, Greenhouse Club, Classic Toasties, Greenhouse Burger or Cheeseburger, MEGA Greenhouse Burger, Veggie Burger, Mexican Chicken Wrap, Mexican Vegetable Wrap, Appletart, White Chocolate Mousse, Cookies, Muffins, and an assortment of drinks. WOW, and that is just breakfast/lunch. The Dinner menu, which starts at 6pm consists of some of the lunch menu items but ADDS: a Spicy Prawn Cocktail, a Grilled Rumpsteak, a Mediterranean Chicken, and SPECIALS of the DAY!!! With an extensive drink menu(non-alcoholic by law) available at all times, GreenHouse Coffeeshop is sure to be one of the TOP Coffeeshops when it comes to satisfying your hunger and thirst. From juices, sodas, waters, energy drinks, smoothies, shakes, milk, hot chocolate, teas, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and more your throat and mouth will be refreshed.

Although, GreenHouse has some stiff competition from Barney's Coffeeshop and a few others in the food and drink region, I love what I am seeing at GreenHouse. They are on the up and up. Lets HOPE they continue climbing.
