I'd like to introduce you to Petra

I met this wonderful woman in early 2004 while talking to her beautiful daughter.

I noticed her daughters loved animals; had no idea the loyalty and commitment she had as well.

Petra has been rescuing animals since before I've known her. This awsome person spends countless dollars from her personal income to help numerous animals get off the streets, spade, nutered, and adopts them out for free. Also, who tells the new owners if they can't handle the animal to bring it back. Now that's a heart.

I didn't believe people like this were real. I thought it was make believe. I grew up with animals but didn't see it the way she does. I neve took under the consideration that breeding could be wrong. I figured it was a way to make money like the rest of them, and recieving a pure breed just seems cool. Well it's not, and I'll tell you why. This woman opened my eyes, the animals that are breeded aren't always properly loved, just treated as trophies. There not all the offspring will go to good homes, and for the more animals we bring into this world more homeless animals are arising and dying. If a person adopted an animal instead of spending hundreds or thousands for a animal would help a homeless animal and support against breeding. I never really saw it this way and I know many of the people I know choice not to accept it. They feel this is bull. Well think what you want, she's correct.

NO ASPCA IN SAN ANTONIO

Petra has been doing this like other individuals in San Antonio I'm sure by themselves.

Did you know San Antonio has no ASPCA? That's right none, so all those dollars given to charity aren't going to San Antonio; don't get me wrong it's still a beautiful thing to give, and the money is still being used for good. Although the San Antonians aren't seeing that support.

The only thing they really have is the Dog pound; which only use is to eliminate the animal population not correcting the problem. So many animals are killed instead of saved.

Now you may think this is the better thing for the animal and in some cases it is. Some innocent animals have been abused so badly, and horribly neglected to where there is no way to save them.

For those animals that are totally healthy, that have been abandoned or lost should not be killed, but rather saved or adopted to wonderful families. This woman opened my eyes, as did her wonderful daughters.

If you ever want to help those animals in San Antonio you can let me know, ore just email her directly:

 petratogden@yahoo.com

And if you would like to donate to Petra to help her care for these animals, just send her a check or money order. I know it'll be unexpected and definitely greatly appreciated. Or better instead if you don't want to give money, just send her a thank you card, I believe she more than deserves a thank you.

Well I would like to close this with some photos of some of the animals she's rescued:

some sorry neighbors moved out 3 weeks ago & all their trash as well as mattresses were left in front by the street. Among all things that they left behind are 2 dogs, on an Aussie

, & the other a mix. they have been sleeping on the mattress waiting for their owners return, which will never happen. I have been going over twice daily to give food & water. They are not trusting of me yet, but the Aussie gets close. Need assistance before the ASC picks them up or they get picked up for pit bait. Will gladly help with a donation to assist in spaying or neutering.
