ARE WE SAVED BY FAITH OR BY WORKS?

The works of the law were absolutely necessary to keep Israel alive, since there was not available at that time a recreated human spirit or the availability to be born again. The new birth was available only after the defeat of the devil by Jesus, His death and resurrection. The law controlled and curbed only the flesh and soul from destruction. For example, one has to use a hand to steal. A person can curb this. One cannot lie or gossip without the tongue. Second commandment say: you shall not make any graven images. One has to have hands to make statues and pictures correct?  This is the role of the flesh and soul.

Today we have available a better way, walking in the spirit. It is the law of the inner man, the law of the spirit.

If you love you will not steal. If you love you will not lie. If you love you will not hate and murder. Faith and love are able to control from you from the inside.

As soon as new birth was available to a person, then the new inner man become quickened, alive. Then he or she will start to bear fruit from within instead of being control flesh from the outside. The law of being ruled by the flesh from the outside was instrumental for the man before the new birth was made available.

If one has a better weapon available he will no longer use the old one.

Was the law of God, which was holy, abolished? Yes and no.

Answer: Yes, because Jesus the Messiah already fulfilled it.

Answer: No because walking in the spirit (faith and love) is fulfilling the law. The answer is simple when we have wisdom (an understanding).

Jesus brought faith as a condition for salvation. Salvation was unable to come to man by keeping law since no one was able to keep it. Only one kept it – Jesus.

He then was able to defeat Satan and crushed his head, while Satan’s head bruised Jesus on his feet (crucifixion).

Jesus took from Satan the keys of hell and death, but Satan still thinks he is god. His time of permanent prison has not yet come. This is why he still steals, kills, lies and destroys what he can. If people refuse being fool by him, then he would be powerless.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will convince the world of sin…the sin of unbelief.  (John 16:8-9).

Paul picked up where Jesus left off and gave us the inner workings faith.

Everything is built in our lives upon faith. Faith was build into us from creation and it is in our genetic make up.

Before one can have any proof one must believe. We can prove only what we see. Even that could be illusion, but let’s say (for the purpose of argument) that this is reality. The rest is faith. Then it is a question of what is to be trusted.

Jesus died for us. If you believe in it you are freed because belief is the condition for salvation. If one builds salvation on good works alone then he or she must work perhaps a thousand years and still could not pay for his or her sin. We, through faith, receive the work Jesus did for us.

It is interesting that those who did not see Jesus in person saw Him better in the spirit than with their own fleshly eyes. Men like David, Isaiah and then Paul. They saw with spiritual eyes, not physical eyes.

This is why we are looking not on facts or pseudo-facts, but through revelation (revealed Word of God).

Human knowledge is so limited. Socrates said: I know what I do not know. True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.

We have to discard the opinions of man and religion and embrace the Word of God, which produces faith, which can set us free.

Devil is the greatest “fooler.” He fools all that he can. He created religion and tries to convince us to keep the old law, which is (he knows) humanly impossible to keep. When we cannot keep it and try, then he blames us for being hypocrites.
