Intro

ASUS has been spreading the cheer it has had with its success in PCs to the PDA phone. The handheld computer never looked smarter, sleeker or cheaper than the new ASUS P320. The phone is a refreshing change from the costly phones offering fantastic capabilities. The P320, though being marketed as a budget phone comes with full PDA capabilities. Built on a TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor, the phone comes with all the features that a basic user could look for on a PDA like a great touch screen, Windows Mobile, Wi-Fi and email. The phone though sadly does not support 3G and neither does it feature an FM radio which could be its main drawbacks.

If you are looking for a budget PDA phone then the P320 should be your first choice.

Design And Display

Sleek and smart is a combination that is known to succeed best. The combination works not only with models and actors but also with gadgets. The P320 is a personification of the two words: sleek and smart. Encased in a wonderful handset that is glossy plastic in the front and metallic at the sides with the back soft and cozy. The unique combination works perfectly with the hands where the phone fits perfectly and comfortably. The lightweight 105 Gms phone comes in three colors: black, white and pink.

The front of the phone is occupied mostly with a large 2.6 inch resistive touch screen. Below the display are the standard soft keys, the call buttons,  a menu shortcut and an OK key, all surrounding a 5 way direction pad for navigation. A unique feature of the design is the Hold key found at the right side which locks the entire phone when activated.

The Windows Mobile 6.1 professional navigation is intuitive and easy and very comfortable on the fingers. The phone also comes with a touch QWERTY keypad which can be the preferred mode of input.

Multimedia

Though primarily meant to be an office phone, the P320 has some admirable multimedia capabilities.

Camera:
The phone comes with a 2 MP camera which is supported by a LED flash for low light photography. The camera comes with autofocus and has both video and still image capabilities. Though not extraordinary in quality, the camera is capable of capturing good quality video.

Media Player:
The Windows mobile phone uses the Windows Media Player for displaying its audio and video capabilities which is capable of supporting popular audio and video formats. The widescreen and the great speakers make the multimedia experience an affair to remember.

Organizer and Email

The phone comes with great organizing capabilities for planning your days in advance. Included in the organizer are the to-do lists, a large clock and calendar appointments.

What is a PDA without advanced email support? The phone comes with the standard email support for POP and SMTP mail and Enterprise Outlook mails.

Also featured is Push mail which makes sending and receiving mails very convenient.
