AT&T Offering New Prepaid Plan

AT&T GoPhone Plan Details

AT&T is getting a little more aggressive in the prepaid cell phone market, which is a smart move as more and more people are becoming interested in this alternative type of phone plan.

As the economy worsens and more and more people are out of a job, many individuals and households are trying to cut back their bills as much as possible so they can wring as much money out of their paychecks as possible.

AT&T is now in the game with a new offer unlimited nationwide calling for $3 a day. Yeah, that's right three dollars a day. Wait, doesn't that add up to $90 per month--that sounds like a lot of money, and it is. I thought we were trying to save money on our cell phone bills. Let's look at this and learn a little bit more about this plan and see if it's competitive. Is AT&T's GoPhone plan going to save us money every month, or is this just a clever ruse to get us to sign up. Read on.

You have a lot of options if you are looking for a prepaid wireless plans. In many ways is is currently a buyers market. Several companies are releasing very attractive offers at the moment. Keep looking and you will find the best plan out there that works for you.

AT&T GoPhone 3 Dollars a Day Plan.

On the AT&T national plan, the GoPhone plan includes no roaming or long distance fees.

It also includes the same SMS and data rates as the other AT&T pay as you go plans.

AT&T also offers an unlimited mobile to mobile call plan, which I believe is included in the 3 buck a day fee--I don't think there is a separate charge for it. Read more about the GoPhone payment options at the official AT&T website.

How does the AT&T GoPhone $3 per day plan work?

Every day that you use your phone to dial a call or receive a call, you are charged the $3 fee, so if there are days you don't use your phone, you aren't charged.

If you use your AT&T GoPhone once each day in a thirty day month, you will be paying a minimum of $90. That is a lot of money for a cell phone plan. Now, if you use your phone a ton--say for very frequent business calls--then this kind of plan may be worth looking into.

If you're making thousands of minutes of calls monthly, then this might be a worthwhile option. Maybe. For the casual, everyday cell phone user, there are many deals that are a lot more attractive than this one.

AT&T recently changed its prepaid plans to make them more attractive to people.  They were falling behind in some ways and revamped its offers to entice more pay as you go users to become their subscribers.

The new plan costs $60 and gives users unlimited calls and messaging.  It's called the GoPhone Unlimited Talk and Text plan and it launched October 12.  It requires no contract or credit check or commitment for that matter.  Once you pay the monthly fee--and get your hands on a handset that works with the plan--it will last for 30 days, at which point you have to pay the fee again.

This plan is undercut pretty severely by the Straight Talk Unlimited (talk, text, and web browsing!) plan, which retails at $45 and runs on the Verizon network, which is as strong as networks come in the United States.  There is an alternate plan that includes 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text for $30.

There are an increasing amount of very good prepaid plans available these days. In order to find one for yourself, it just really takes a little bit of research and figuring out exactly what you need out of your plan.
